Just move on. Don’t you have 5 other forums and 3 other arguments to engage in today to meet your posting history quota and reputation?
If you knew my posting history you’d know I’m a big proponent of the no goodness of the Edmonton Oilers. That regardless of what the stats say, regardless of where they or the Flames are in the standings, that there will always be a place for this thread and that the one truth we can all agree on as Flames fans is that Edmonton = no good. McDavid sucks, the Oilers suck, and nothing will change that. Even in this situation, it’s a beautiful thing that the Oilers had to give away two players that could have helped them because they can afford nothing but bottom-of-the-barrel tweeners to fill their embarrassingly hollow roster.

I’m sure you can put the personal crusade aside and we can agree on that, right?

If the Edmonton River Valley becomes a national park does it still count as Edmonton?

a. No, or at least that's my position with Oiler fans when I crap on Edmonton.

b. It's so Edmonton to try and make a city river valley (we have one too) into something more than it actually is.

not sure I'd call a flood plain a valley but to each their own.

There are few things more “classic” Edmonton than that.

“We have a mall like everyone else, but it’s the biggest!”
“We have a river like every city built on a river, but it’s a national park!”
“We lost in the playoffs like 15 other teams, but to the cup winners!… TWICE!”

The desperation in making a boring northern prairie town that nobody likes sound any better than what it is, is something I hope never changes about Edmonton. Just perfect.

Lol- look I hate on Edmonton as much as anyone. I don't even live in Edmonton proper because of it's general ####tiness. But this is just silly. The river valley in edmonton is nothing like calgary's bow river. It's more akin to having fish creek park in the middle of the city.

Edmonton is god damn horrendous. Totally flat, filled with abundant toxicity spewing industry, windy and cold. Every approach to the city by road runs past an industrial area or beat up run down commercial zone. Half the street corners consist of competing liquor stores and a payday loan center in between. It smells like actual piss frequently.

YET, spending a day on the south side of the river valley (around U of A campus and strathcona) is pretty beautiful in the summer time. In fact it is quite easy to forget what you are surrounded by when you're there. It's also isolated by several upscale communities from the rest of the city.

Is it a gross, ####ty prairie town? Yes absolutely. Saskatoon is objectively more beautiful.
Is the river valley still beautiful anyways? Yes, very much, and not comparable to the bow river at all.

I love just on the other side in Oliver and it's cool and (no) good. I moved last month and really dig it.

Oliver is good too, along with some of the west end communities across the stony plain bridge. But I didn't want to swamp out the calgarians with too much micro edmonton love.

Hahaha… We are well aware of your insatiable 15,000+ posting history & need to be right.

So I give in. You are correct. Just walk away.

Let’s agree the Oilers are as pathetic as your relentless need to correct everyone’s spelling, grammar, and incorrectness on almost every issue you engage in.

Most cities have a river valley, because they have rivers running through them. Nothing unique about that.

Difference is edmonton's river ranges between murky brown to green depending on the light.

The Bow is just way better to look at, year round.

Also the glacier feeding the N. Saskatchewan is going to melt in the next 50-100 years.

lol man, “we.” He thinks he speaks for multiple people now.

Time to get back on topic or DM me if you’re that desperate to go through my catalogue of posts (can’t blame you, there are some outright gems in there).

Go enjoy the Edmonton river valley or something lol. Or at least hit us with some ideas for the next thread. In the inspiring, iconic words of McDavid:

“Let’s go.”

I agree with your assessment of the water quality. The NSR is a dirty, muddy bitch. But it's also a much, much more substantial river than the weak little bow. Also, I would be MUCH much more concerned with the glacier feeding the bow. The South Alberta region in general is already EXTREMELY stressed in terms of water draw. You'll be begging for some of that sweet sweet NSR flow before the glacier melts in the parkway.
