Old Fashion German Sausage House Just off 1st SW on Stephen Ave

4 bucks or so for a huge Kolbassa and a drink.

Hands down the best in town.

If you're ever in Vancouver, the best street meat in the World (outside Manhattan) is by far Japadog on Burrard and Smithe. Generic hot dog with a Japanese twist!

Yup, you can get a hot dog and and hear about the guy's distrust of banks because they are run by Jews.

Seriously, don't go there!

And bacon bits. Fake I know. But still good. TO vendors have like 12 different condiment options in an attempt to out do the guy next door. Here it's KMR only...

I would have to say Tubby Dog on 17th ave. I've only been there once, but my hot dog had a piece of ham and a fried egg on top. It was glorious.

There's a Eastern European guy who has a Hot Dog stand pretty much year round unless the weather is bad on the corner of TD Square by the C-Train station. He's always there playing chess with some other guy, has a variety of meats. I always get them from him.

Kind of far from Eau Claire though.

Sadly, the pocket dogs no longer exist at Eau Claire :<

I'm partial to Tubby Dog (my favorite heart attack) and Best Of The Wurst (my old neighbour runs it!), but Sausage Party is good in a pinch...

Occasionally, there is a Spolumbo's stand at 7th and 2nd street, and they are fan-freaking-tastic when it's there.

Sadly, it's usually only around lunch time during the week.

Yep. Eau Claire is a definite no-go these days for hot dogs, as I found out yesterday at lunch.

I suppose I will have to make my way down to Stephen Ave. or TD Square to try some of the places you guys suggested.

Thanks to all who provided the info.

The thing I like about the guy who has the cart at the corner of TD Square is that it's a fire grill and he puts the buns in there too. Don't order the "all-beef" though, that's just a normal crappy bun and sausage.

$4.50 for Spicy Italian, Polish, Bratwurst, etc. The fire toasted buns are the best bread I have tasted. I prefer them as it's a real hot dog bun compared to the sausage house and the other cart in front of Bankers Hall because they give you those breads that are basically just a bun with a hole in it that the sausage sticks out of.

No really unique condiments, but you can load up on whatever you want. The usual relish, mustard, honey mustard, ketchup, onions, saurkraut, red/yellow/banana peppers, vietnamese hot sauce, bbq sauce, etc. etc.
