Kadri and Huby got term because the Flames #### themselves and felt they needed to add star power to the team and patch the big holes.

I'd really hate it if they added Nylander on another big contract. Without moving something bad the other way - like Marky or Kadri.

There were a lot of intangibles with #13 and #19 and Matty situations but it is definitely better to pay for what you know you have.

We need to see more value in short term "show me" contracts when bringing in outside players. No disrespect to the players, I think we gambled too much that things would just work out.

Do you actually believe Huberdeau and Kadri would have signed 3 years contracts?

No idea, but if they didn't want to sign here there were options for sure. Flames need to dictate the future not coddle to the players. Seems like the Flames get caught signing too much term to players not always showing up. We have had players we signed only to buy them out a short time later.

This is the same player who expressed lack of desire to stay with the Flames.

This is why people are talking about a Lindholm trade scenario.
I'm not forgetting anything. If Lindholm signs (I think he will), then all that 'doesn't want to sign here' goes out the window.

And if he doesn't sign, we have a massive glut at C, so spending another $9M+ (plus acquisition costs) on another winger, is beyond stupid.

I know he couldn't officially sign until Saturday but it sounds like this offer has been on the table for a while.

If he can't decide on if he wants to sign with that types of commitment and needs months to think about it is heart really in a place that he wants to be here.

I'd create a internal deadline of July 15th and pivot and trade him.

Free agents can decide in a day it shouldn't take much convincing he's been here 5 years.

Again, applying a different standard to the Flame. Has Nylander decided? That doesn't seem to matter to people. Far more importantly, we have no idea if he would be interested in signing here, or how much he'd ask for, if we did trade for him.

There is no sane argument for wanting to move on from Lindholm, only to trade for Nylander.

I'm not staying pivot to Nylander and praying him.

Situation is different he's made it clear he wants money and leafs don't want to meet his demands.

It seems we have given Lindholm what he wants so if he can't decide on offer like that with what is probably a month to think it over its time to move on.

Why not? Their best young players are signed long term, have cap space and they need a sniper to replace Debrincat

TMZ Frank put in his place. Anyone else want to call him a premier insider?

LOL a loser agent mad this his clients request got out is proof someone isn't an insider???

I am not saying Seravelli is 100% right all the time but the hate some people have for insiders here is silly.

We can afford them both if the salary cap is up 4 or so million next year. Just need to cut bait on some of our upcoming ufa's.

See, the thing is, no one knows the facts so how can you really pick a side. Did Gibson say that? Did he say it to Frank? Someone else? Did it get twisted through a game of telephone? Did he say it to someone in confidence? Did it never happen at all?

Frank is like Eklund, they both have their sources and are insiders.

Frank said Gibson told Anaheim he will never play for them again.

A bold claim.

TJ Brodie was being bought out Mitch Love was going to be the coach.

Insider is being nice to him he's more Eklund throwing stuff out without fac checking it seems.

We also have good and respected insiders like Pierre Lebrun, Chris Johnston, Elliote when he isn't being annoying.
