I don't recall Minnesota doing anything off the top of my head... or the Habs.

Wondering if Conroy is setting the bar too high? The rumoured deal from pittsburgh wasn’t that bad. We might be stuck with all of our UFAs if all of the teams pull their plan B’s.

Still think we resign a few of them. But Hanifin sounds like he’s one foot out the door.

If there isn't a good enough deal they're better off waiting until close to the trade deadline. It is in Hanifin's interest to play his best this year even if he is one foot out the door since it is a contract year for him. What they don't want to do, even if they are in a playoff position, is hang on to him past the trade deadline and lose him for nothing at the end of the year.

According to capfriendly.com, A couple of teams (MIN, VGK, MTL) made some minor AHL signings and Columbus' only move was Fantilli's ELC but outside of that Flames are the only team with 0 signings at all today (so far)

Looks like the Wild signed a couple AHL 2 way contract guys & Montreal traded Edmundson today but no free agent signings.
So you're more or less correct. Quiet day for those 2 as well.

Both teams signed some 2-way AHL depth (along with the Blues, who were also quiet). AFAIK the Flames are the only team so far to do literally nothing.

And for the most part I'm perfectly fine with that.

There is not one player (maybe Stetcher for depth) that I'm sad to see off the board.

What was the rumored deal from Pittsburgh?

A bunch of nothing and a choice between a 2024/2025 1st round pick.

Plan B looks good in July, not so much in October and November often

I didn't realize Steel wasn't tendered as an RFA. I think he'd be a good fit. Center, young, and hard working. 2nd/3rd line center, especially if Lindholm and/or Backlund are gone. Always wanted him on the flames. Had the pleasure of watching 3 years of him on the Pats and always liked him

I finally got around to listening to this press conference, and my observation is that Conroy doesn’t seem out of his depth at all. He has a plan, and he’s sticking to it, even if it runs against the stream.

No signings on July 1 is a home run win for the franchise, honestly.

Would you rather be the Red Wings and go torch $10mm in nonsense? Conroy did well today by taking the day off.

I don't agree with every decision Conroy has made, especially with his 1st round pick and rolling out the red carpet to Lindholm, but so far he's at least stuck to the plan he's outlined, and that much I can respect.

In contrast, it seems like Treliving pretty much just flew by the seat of his pants and told us to shut up because it's a process. Good riddance. His moves for TO have been his particular brand of awful.

What...you dont think 37 year-old Ryan Reaves for 3 years is a stroke of Wizardry?
