Supplemental Draft Picking thread

This is self managed and can start once the NHL draft is over.
Order is based on reverse standings, snake style.
When a team is done just state you are done and you will be excluded from future rounds.

Can we please check if overagers are allowed or not? Last year they were. Lightning will make their pick accordingly.

They are not per the original post.
They can be signed as UFAs.

I think originally we changed the rule to include overagers in this, when CBJ drafted that Russian out of the blue in the 1st. We had the supplemental draft set up with one team assuming they would just draft that player 1st overall. In the meantime, a second team submitted an offer to sign the player as a free agent on a first come first serve basis.

We've since fixed that problem by introducing the 24 hour rule for free agents, meaning if two teams submit an offer for the same player within 24 hours, they go to a second round of bidding. That resolved the problem with a team being rewarded for "typing fastest" during the NHL draft.

So that's why my mindset is that we should drive some consistency here
- Overagers can be signed as free agents including before our draft
- They should therefore be available as free agents AFTER the draft too using our standard signing rules
- And they should be excluded from the supplemental draft.

Sorry for the confusion, but I think at the root is we've had two things in conflict. But in my view the above is the cleanest way to deal with it.
