Like….. ??????? Keeping Duchene for one more year was a much better option for them…

So, Preds are also looking to still compete? I would much rather have Duchene.

Strange moves from Nashville.

Maybe they felt like it was too much of a country club

Yeah there's clearly a belief the culture mix in Nashville was not okay. They've gotten older, slower, and grittier in the last day.

2023 Chris Gratton. Any GM who signs or trades for him gets fired.

12 mill of dead cap for multiple years is quite the sacrifice, both Minny and Nashville came in at the same time and seem to have made the same mistakes.

Decent cap hit to be honest, but such a head scratching move by Nashville. Almost the same cap hit in total between the Duchene cap hit and this.

Predators having a strange offseason. ROR has forgot more leadership skills than Duchene ever had but seems like a costly transition.

Exactly.

They are adamant about building a winning culture.

Imo, very good signing.

Not sure about this one, but I'm a full on Duchene hater so I think they made the right move by dumping him.

not really sure what Nashville is doing. All of their moves pointed to a rebuild, now they blow money on RoR and Schenn. Seems weird.

Let's revisit this post a year from now. I'm guessing opinions might change.
