Pittsburgh might not be the worst team to try and get a 1st out of. They could really fall off in the next year or two, and you could get a high pick.

It would be unlikely since they just drafted him but I would love Yager as a centerpiece.

Edit: pierre oliver Joseph would also be a nice piece since the team wants to keep competing

I feel like Karlsson on the Hurricanes puts them over the top finally. Staple him to Slavin and he'll never have to pretend to play defence again. Gives them that offensive game breaker that they've been lacking. I don't know what their cap situation is like but I think they should go for it.

Sign Duchene for 3, sign Lindholm for 8.75. Go with Lindholm-Duchene-Backlund as your top 3. Trade Backlund now though if you can get a good return. Re-sign Backlund if he's willing to come back on a 2-3 year deal for max 3.5. If not, trade him at the deadline.
