I'm still unwaveringly 100% in the keep Elias Lindholm camp.

Is Lindholm's agent Filip Andreason taking lessons on cryptic teases from Sec214?

I'm wondering how many people is for re-signing Lindholm and how many people are against? This is assuming the terms are what is rumored ($8M++ AAV).
I'm in the "trade him" camp as I really feel like we won't be that much worse without him. I feel like Backlund has more impact than Lindholm does when it comes to winning vs losing.

It'll be closer to 9M I think. I really like him as a player but am not sure how much value there is from half way through an 8 year deal. The meltdown and overreaction on here will be spectacular. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Imo if we are resigning lindholm, they're trying for the playoffs and the ultimate result will be the flames picking between 12-16 next draft.

$9 MM or under, sign him. Have to draw the line somewhere though.

I think resigning Lindholm and trading away Hanifin for futures (while other UFAs stay) will get us in the playoffs. We should’ve been in the playoffs last year if we didn’t go “everything gone wrong style”.
1 UFA signing of a solid vet (for good value) and Stetcher is all we need to do if that’s the direction. Give Montreal our 2024 pick.

Correct. They have stated they are trying for the playoffs.
That's not an unknown. It's their stated goal.

I don't know of any team that isn't trying for playoffs regardless of their roster. It's still revenue no matter what.
Maybe I'm naïve but I still think you can make playoffs and compete without a Lindholm. We still have some really good pieces. I look at Seattle and they are able to compete with a mix of vets and young guys without ridiculous contracts.

I see the “don’t sign Lindholm” crowd as being upset either way. They sign him and they’re gonna be upset. They don’t and make other moves to ensure they have enough talent to go for the playoffs, and they’re going to be upset.
This rebuild fantasy has to die at some point. The team is going for it with or without Lindholm. Gonna be a lot easier (and require a lot less of an ugly vet contract) to do it with.

You are suppsoing Backlund is still on the team though. I think he's just as likley to be moved.
