Sue Johanson was a god damn Canadian treasure. Even if she’s been off the air for probably a couple of decades, she made a massive impact on the lives of so many people. She was funny, candid, and compassionate. For queer people, she was a champion and taught us a lot of what we didn’t ever get to learn in school or from our parents. She was kind of a grandma/aunt figure who accepted us when we didn’t know if our own parents/grandparents would.
Rest in peace Sue.

Damn, great actor. Need to go back and watch Glengarry Glenn Ross again.
I hear that, but it's gotta be Catch 22 for me. Iconic role in an important film.
I loved the smaller roles he had because he always put his full self into them. I remember him playing the police captain in So I Married an Axe Murder, and he was progressive, polite, and kind...and it bothered the detective because he wanted it to be more like the movies. So, in an effort to appease his subordinate, he attempts to be the hard ass captain that he expects. It's a small joke and almost completely inconsequential to the plot, but he really goes for it.
