There's lot's to like about this kid, the more I research the more I like, haven't seen many negative things about him. Think a lot of people gonna be eating crow.

Never once has this franchise figured out a way to overcome their mediocrity. And when they almost did they let JG and tkachuk leave for bags of pucks to remain mediocre once again.

Can set your watch to the flames always finishing 8th-24th in standings 99% of the time and sucking in the playoffs or blowing the draft pick depending on what side of that scale they’re on

Sorry to be so blunt here, but why are you still cheering and following the team if it makes you feel so miserable?

There are tons of other professional sports teams you could follow, not to mention countless other activities and hobbies that you could get yourself into that would like fill you up more than wallowing about this team that clearly you dislike. It's a sports team, following this team should be filling you up with happiness and excitement and if it isn't then you need to reflect on why you are still following them. That doesn't mean that you aren't realistic about this team's chances in the future and are always optimistic, but good grief, this is a pro sports team, this isn't life or death. To famously quote Ilya Bryzgalov, "It's only a game, why u heff to be mad?"

No shame in being a bandwagon fan during tough times, it's not always easy to cheer for a mediocre team, but again, why post here and try to prove to everyone how devoted you are to following this team when it's clear from your post that you aren't happy at all supporting this team?

Take a break, find other hobbies and interests that will fill you up in your life. I feel like I'm now giving life advice here lol

Getting super upset over a 16th overall draft pick is dumb though. I get being frustrated with the direction of team but I guarantee people who are very mad would have been happy with picking the player with the highest aggregate ranking and watch about zero minutes of video on prospects. Honzek wasn’t even really off the board either.
I do wonder if Flames hate drafting centres and RWs though. They sure draft a lot of LWs lol

Drafting 16 is always a crapshoot even in a so called deep draft. I’ve only heard good things about this kid and the Flames sound excited to get him. Seems like a great person and teammate. Hope it works out.

That would sure be nice. With this talent pool and uncertainty looming with Backs and Lindy, feels like it was somewhat prudent to come out of here with a good center added to our cupboards.

Thinking about it. I probably answered my own question on the centre thing. All the best ranked centres have been gone by the Flames picks. BOA is the way to go. Moore will be the player to watch. Will be disappointed if he turns out to be a good centre.

I get the frustration but the draft position is what it is. I know people wanted bold trades to acquire more first round draft capital but the market didn’t dictate that. I’m confident the Flames explored different avenues but didn’t have a dance partner at the end of the day.

As far as the actual pick I’m willing to bet like myself that a majority of fans don’t much insight into any of these guys outside of the top 5. Most of us are invested at the pro level and go off of what insiders from TSN and Sportsnet think about the draft. Just because we didn’t take a player that they projected doesn’t mean this won’t pan out. I know having patience is hard considering the mediocrity with this club but I think Conroy and his group deserve some time to make decisions. We can judge those when the time is right.

I’ve watched tons of prospect videos but not nearly as much gameplay as the people making these decisions. Maybe 5 years from now we say this was a huge miss, or maybe we’re saying wow how did everyone else pass on him? Reality is we won’t know for a while but we have a kid that the scouts identified and are excited to have. His name was stitched on the jersey so he was their guy. Welcome to the Flames, and I can’t wait to see how he develops over the next couple years!
