I think this was a poor pick by the flames. Flames could have had someone who could turn into a star...Honzek looks like a third liner. Why?

Oh definitely - and agree for the most part. Just not the way I would have gone about it, but certainly hope our scouts got this right...

I'm the guy who sits at home shouting at the screen when we passed on yyc born and raised Braydon Point multiple times all the way through passing on Lane Hutson in the 2nd rnd last yr lol, so I obviously have zero pull in Flames decisions haha.

Last “big” guy flames drafted that worked out well?
It’s a short list if any.
It’s not mad that a big guy got picked, it’s disappointment when higher upside guys were still available, guys who were ranked way higher and who’s
nhl-e/development stats showed way higher promise.

Even the smart analytical guys weren’t fond of this kid.

Are the Flames just smarter than everyone else?
Based on history… I’m not so sure.
