Colton is a cap casualty for Tampa. They can't afford to keep him.

Likely means Colorado is moving on from JT Compher.

Flames should be in on Compher. Great replacement for Backlund.

Colton fetching a high 2nd makes the Sharangovich return look a little better IMO.

Oof, I like Colton but think that's a little steep for the cost in a deep draft.

I know they’re different ages and all but a 2nd rounder for basic production seems pretty good on Tampa’s part no? Really wish there was a bit more to the Toffoli deal.

Tampa needed some draft picks. Before they made this move they weren't picking until 179.

Seems like Tampa got good value for a player they had to trade.

Another good deal for Tampa. They will get a better player with that pick than what the Flames got in the toffoli traded pick

I love forums haha.

I agree that is makes the Toffoli trade sting a little less.

Colton and Sharangovich are pretty comparable. Colton has 47 goals and 83 points in 190 games. Sharangovich has 53 goals and 106 points in 205 games.

Colton and #31 in this draft for Newhook is good asset management by Sakic

Colton and Sharangovich are pretty similar, with Sharangovich having slightly better numbers and is younger.

But calling them equivalent, that basically suggests that the return for Toffoli was the 37th and 80th picks in this draft (a high 2nd and a 3rd)
