It'll be refreshing to have a #17 who can do things with the puck out there.

Conroy was fleeced.

Are they more similar players than at first glance? Sure, but Toffoli must have had a lot more value.

RH 73 point, defensively sound winger with a cup and years of playoff experience at 4.25m?

Sure last year was an anomaly, but holy hell did Jersey make out like robbers.

People don't need to have an all in opinion on the day of a trade

Maybe it's not the greatest or worst thing ever!

Maybe time will tell like every other trade in history.

If we pull up the Hamilton trade many thought it was a disaster.

One year's time Jersey will have nothing to show for the acquisition because they won't be able to offer him what he was seeking here either.

Flames will have two players. Potentially decent ones.

Yeah, fleecing of the century.

31 year old with one year left on his deal that skates like he’s in quick sand. Not sure why so many fans thought/think that Toffoli had crazy high value.

Last year: Zito was fleeced.

A year later everyone thinks we lost that trade. Why don't we wait and see how the players do on their new teams and who we get with that 3rd before jumping to conclusions?

Sharangovich of 2 yrs ago would be fine

The current version is problematic. Who knows what direction is next for him and they have to qualify/pay him to find out.

Apparently NJ gave up on him so something is there.

Has the Flames ever turned anyone career around?

Maybe they did, I just don’t remember

I mean, yeah, seems like a pretty underwhelming trade. Also kind of directionless? Are we rebuilding, are we not, why not just go for more futures since our amateur scouting has been pretty too notch as of late.

This trade gives me Kenny agostino/Ben hanowski vibes. And tbh conroy as a GM gives me jay feaster vibes, nice guy that might not dig in as much as he should.

That's the thing, unless they win the cup the Flames win the head to head

Could they have got more would be debatable

I remember the Leafs and Oilers "winning" the deadline according to the internet

We might just draft the next Johnny G.

By this logic, the Flames could trade Lindholm for a 7th and say the same thing.
At some point the actual value has to matter.

Why are some people trying to spin this as the team having no plan or direction?? Conroy is doing exactly what he said he was going to do. How in the hell are some people getting a lack of direction out of him doing exactly what he said he was going to do?
