he looked good early on, but injuries have really derailed his career these past couple of years ... he's clearly talented, just can't stay healthy. Good gamble for the Sharks.

Not at all.
Execs around the league love Vladar’s technical ability. Blackwood is a reclamation project due to multiple lower body surgeries. Lots of goalies who have gone through what he has never get back to 100%.
