Vilardi: 23 goal, 41 points in 63 games (23 years old)
Iafallo: 36 points in 59 games (28 years old)
Kupari: 15 points in 66 games (22 years old)

That's not that bad...but I do worry about Vilardi's injury history and Iafallo's age a bit.

Feels a bit like LA selling high on Vilardi and Iafallo to me. But an okay package if the Jets don't want to rebuild.

It's actually the kind of return I would expect Conroy to be looking for given the Flames want to still win now. That said I wouldn't be super excited about this kind of return for Lindholm.

It's a quantity for quality. None of those players are going to be tremendously impactful. Vilardi is the best but I don't know that he's much more than he is today. Skating isn't great.
Iafallo is a middle 6 forward.
Kupari is probably not an NHLer.

Yeah. Will be interesting to see the final trade. Definitely a hockey trade if this is everything as no picks are exchanged.

I've been watching the BB mock draft and they were talking during the Buffalo pick and to me from their conversation, it's a pick they'd be willing to trade. They need good NHL bodies as their prospect system is pretty primed for a couple of seasons.

Kind of hoping Hanifin goes to Buffalo for 13oa.

I very much agree.

The Jets will regret structuring the deal this way.

Vilardi is the key, can he stay healthy. He also was shooting something like 20% this year.

Kupari and Iafallo are just a lot of nothing special.

I could honestly see both team regretting this trade in 2 years. If LA pays the $9 million AAV for him, they may be trying to move it to make room for an offer to fit in Draisaitl around then. And the jets may be looking at a bunch of middle-six players while losing their tops two centres (Scheifele and PLD) this summer.

Time will tell.

I would be avoiding CP if the Flames made that trade for Lindholm

I agree, but I believe the erosion of quality talent for a quantity is the more detrimental side of the trade.

If you look at it from Winnipeg's perspective:

- Draft Laine (top-line scorer)
- Trade Laine for Dubois (top-six centre)
- Trade Dubois (top-six centre) for Vilardi, Iafallo, Kupari

They're clearly banking on Vilardi - which I think is a mistake, and then got Iafallo who is effectively available every off-season as a UFA from a replacement perspective, and Kupari...who like Jiri said, really doesn't line up as much of an NHL player.

They started with a Telescope and ended with an open pack of professor copperfield's miracle legumes.

Interesting people are underrating Kupari in the LA/WPG deal. He's still young with a lot of upside.

He's 23 year old who has 29 points in 130 NHL games, and that number isn't exactly scaling upward.

Most of them you want to be the 3rd or 4th best player on the team

Even point is 3rd or 4th best (not including the goalie) on a Stanley Cup winning team

And that actually demonstrates the point . You need superstars and it’s very very hard to find a superstar outside of the top picks , especially a Center superstar
That wasn't the criteria - nice goalpost change.

FYI - Point has more points than 1OA Stamkos on his team this year. And has 2 cup rings. Including 20-21 where he led the team in points in the post season.

I seem to recall Kopitar leading his team to a cup. Also ROR for that matter. And Kuznetsov. And Getzlaf. Not to mention Vegas never drafted a 1C in the top 5 - they acquired one.

Plus, a lot of the others on my list are just on otherwise unsuccessful teams. They are still top level 1Cs.

Dubois is a career 60 point player, 25, and has attitude issues ( or at least has bounced around a lot). It's a strong return for effectively a 2nd C

He can't even stick in the nhl full time. Maybe give him a year but after that he's waiver fodder.

This gives LA a very deep group of forwards. They've also almost done a fake rebuilt. They acquired a bunch of great young prospects, but then seem to be trading all of those guys away for more veteran forwards. They're pulling the plug on their rebuild.

They still have Byfield and Kaliyev in the system. If these guys take a step forward, the Kings are looking pretty solid?

It will certainly be interesting to see how Kupari does in WPG. He’s been pretty highly touted for a few years now, without the stats to back it up.
