definitely don't need to make this decision before the best draft in 10+ years and before one of the two prime trading periods in the NHL.

Totally agree.

I’m ok with Lindholm returning if they can get him on a solid deal (under 9) and if they move Toffoli, Hanifin, Tanev, and Vladar for picks/prospects/young NHL players

LeBrun doing the Flames a solid.

We're totally fine just keeping him. Unless.......

I think we're seeing some prime posturing via the media.

At LEAST to drive up offers during the draft, and the lack of urgency from the Flames to try to conversely drive it up from whomever they're dealing with.

If there are no 2023 first rounders being offered and are rejected when demanded, then waiting makes sense. I hope this is not the case if the Flames are going to trade him

What would change in September that is different today?

Does he want to see what the roster looks like after Hanifin and Toffoli are traded?

We wont be a player in free agency, and I don't see a hockey trade being made but who knows.

I would move on from the player if he is just going to toy us around.

I'm hoping this is just a ploy to raise his trade value

Lol. That would seem like something flames would do . They better hope that teams interested in him don’t pivot .

The confusing bit on the Flames being patient with Lindholm is that we’ve heard, and it makes sense, that what happens with Lindholm will help define what the Flames do going forward.

If the Flames don’t come out of the draft with a decision on Lindholm completed - they just seem directionless.

Gotta think there will be far worse trade options in September when everyone has restructured and are capped out.

Good to see Conroy learned from the Gaudreau situation and won’t let a player string him along because the team is desperate not to lose him.

I'm really hoping this is some 4D chess. It would be very on brand to wait this out until September, and then take a crap return in a weak draft because other teams have already solidified their rosters, and now your back is up against the wall when he still refuses to sign.

So the Flames are willing to be held hostage by a potentially expensive, mid-tier centre.

You should be engaging in trade talks in parallel, as that's how you make the trade off decision.

We can sign Lindholm to x contract or we can move him for this package.

You shouldn't be making any decision without knowing all alternative opportunities

I feel like we are being dragged around, we can't allow that to happen again either he wants to commit or he doesn't.

Teams don't make big trades in camp.

We should just move on if he can't decide.

It's looking like 2 years in a row at the draft management will be paralyzed by one guy taking his sweet ass time to make a decision

I hope Lindholm does us all a favour and bails before the draft begins on Wednesday.

Trade offers don't matter if their preference is to re-sign him and retool. There won't be a package that gets a centre back that is as good as Lindholm.

Ya, this is annoying to read. The Flames should have set a deadline. If you need to convince a player to stay, then that should say it all about the player wanting to stay.
