This first trade for Conroy is very important and sets the tone for how the rest of this offloading is going to go. He can’t botch the first one

I think Detroit rather goes for DeBrincat ... he's still only 25, he might fit their window better than Lindholm. Carolina does make sense.

Then I would think Morrow is part of the deal if it’s Carolina.

Have 2 1sts this year, 3 seconds this year, and 2 1sts next year.
Lindholm also feels like Red Wing to me too. He would have fit in perfectly on some of those great teams.

Return will be highest to a team that the players will sign with, otherwise, they’ll just be getting rental returns.

Generally they will return the most value with an extension in place though.

So probably what is happening.

They’ve been unlucky in the draft lottery and haven’t been able to secure a centre, but they have built a solid pool of youth outside of the centre spot.

Here is a list of their 1st and 2nd round picks between 2019-2022:

Kasper (W)
James (W)
Buchelnikov (W)
Edvinsson (D)
Costa (G)
Buium (D)
Raymond (W)
Wallinder (D)
Niederbach (W)
Hanas (W)
Seider (D)
Tuomisto (D)
Mastrosimone (W)

Their biggest need is a centre, and Larkin + Lindholm gives them a pretty solid 1-2 punch.

He's gambling right now.

Conroy has a handful GMs awaiting his phone call on Elias.

Hatti B's this afternoon... No more Jack.
I like it!

Yeah, Detroit has what CGY would want.

Aside from a 1st in 23, Edvinsson, Dower-Nielsen, Kasper, Red Savage, Willander, Tuimisto, Viro.

They've got tons assets to work something out.

Plus, Lindholm >>>>>> Copp on their roster.

If we’re sending Lindholm to Detroit might as well ship Hanifin there too. We’ll take both their firsts and a top prospect.

I'd definitely consider their 2023 1st + Necas

Even though that's the 30th pick, that's like getting a #15 pick in an average draft year

A 1st in the top half of the round (say from Detroit) and I'd entertain a B+/A- prospect as the add

If it’s Detroit, Kasper would be a tremendous get.

Did people actually think PLD was getting Byfield? Way too soon for the Kings to cut him loose

I’d do Necas straight across. Can’t see him being on the table. I’m not sure the canes can fit Lindholm in after signing Stall

Only if PLD signs that extension and I bet that is the hold up.

Why does Carolina trade Necas?

He had his breakout season. He’s not a future piece anymore, but rather an impactful young player.

I don’t see any world in where Carolina trades Necas in a deal for Lindholm.

picking back to back at 16 and 17 would be fun, too. That upper half of the first round is so loaded, you'd easily walk away with two great talents.
