I really don’t think that’s true. If a player has say, a 15-year career, and you can honestly say that only 3 of those years (in that players prime) were good, then you are talking about a bad player.
If you go through the list of Vezina Trophy nominees, you’ll see a lot of goalies that are like Markstrom- Cechmanek, Mason, Carrey. Brian Elliott finished 5th one year, and I think Mike Smith showed up in voting a few times…

Markstroms save percentages since 2016:
.915
.910
.912
.912
.918
.904
.922
.892
That’s pretty solid considering he hasn’t played on too many good teams. He’s really only been a bonafide number 1 for 6 seasons and honestly, last year was his only poor season.
Your argument is baloney. It’s 5 good seasons in 6 years. Not 3 out of 15 lol.

Yeah I know, Markstrom hasn’t even played 15 seasons. My point is that I believe Markstrom is a mediocre goalie who hit it big for a few years, and is coming back down to earth, that’s just my opinion.

Okay, which years did he hit it big and what exactly does coming back down to earth mean to you?
By looking at his numbers it looks like he’s a consistent 910-915 type of goalie with his last two seasons being the only major outliers (one good and one bad). Unless I’m missing something?

There's been rumblings of a massive Boston shake up, I wonder if the Flames are dancing with them.
Does Charlie Coyle move the needle for us in a blockbuster?

Massive shake up, blockbuster, and Charlie Coyle don’t belong in the same sentence together.
He’s a 31 years old second/third line forward. I don’t see any reason why the Flames would be interested in him.

Not really. Now McAvoy is a different story but Boston is not moving him.

Just looked at capfriendly, Bostons roster and picks. They have nothing I’d want. Hall but I’m taking him as a cap dump, or a small asset back.

Quite a few leaked trades that have hit “snags” this year. The leaks must be happening early in the process of the trades as it seems rare for all these trades to get announced and then it take so long for them to happen or (as it sounds like with the Flyers-Blues) fall through.
The PLD to LA trade was leaked 2 days ago I believe and is still not finalized. Same with the DeAngelo trade to Caroline. The Hayes to St. Louis trade sounds like it might not be as big as originally thought but was leaked a few days ago now.

Lysell is like their only prospect. I'm a big fan of Zacha but I don't know how or why the Bruins would let him go since he's been pretty much a beast for them already.
Hall is on the wrong side of everything in terms of the Flames needs.
Yeah I'm not seeing much there.

Hanifin and Vladar to Buffalo for 13+
Lindholm to Detroit or Washington for 8/9
Toffoli to rangers for a 1st or Laf
If only it were that simple

I'm eyeballing Seattle as a surprise entrant. And Shane Wright is the prize.

Can you give us a bit of a clue? The name of teams involved?
