Nobody wants Yamamoto Oilers! Get your facts straight if a team wants him bad enough they'll wait till July 1st after the Oilers buy him out. Why would any team give up assets to acquire him? He's worth negative value in today's market lol.

Yup! If they want to trade him to avoid buying him out and have dead cap, they'll have to attach a 1st to him. So Yamamoto + 1st for 7th.

The Oilers completely wasted the entirety of Holloway's ELC. I was surprised to see that he will be an RFA next summer and has played only part of one NHL season in which he struggled. At a time when the Oilers are desperate to maximize value on players in their ELCs, this is so on brand for them to utterly botch this.

I have said for years that Friedman is just another Oiler fanboy with a platform. He loves to stir #### up in the Flames camp but won't ever say anything bad against his golden boys, the Oilers. Too many years of sitting in close proximity to Ron MacLean, I guess.

The Oilers thinking they could break up the Flames is ridiculous, but I think that series loss may have contributed to Gaudreau’s decision to leave, and that may have influenced Tkachuk’s decision as well. And then the bad season started the dominoes falling.

Also noteworthy is that Edmonton, by all metrics, is no good.

Yes, I'm sure the Oilers, who as an organization can barely tie their own skates, who would probably suffocate if you made them aware that they were breathing, were the masterminds of breaking up another team down the road.
The team that needed to give absolutely everything, and still needed absolutely everything to go right for them and wrong for the other team to have a chance, had time to formulate a non-hockey related conspiracy on another team. How friggin delusional can you get?

I don’t think he’s an Oiler’s fanboy, per se. He’s more of a prostitute.
He frequently trends towards salacious stories that will provide more clicks from Oiler or Leafs fans like the salivating dogs that they are.
He also treads lightly on or fellates both franchises because his employer partially owns one of them. The other franchise is notoriously so thin skinned that they will restrict player availability (mainly Connor McDavid) to certain media members, or at the least threaten to, if they feel anyone is too critical (which in actuality is just being factual).
They can do this because their fanbase is a captured market in a dump of a city with nowhere to go and nothing else to do.
Remember, Friedman is employed to sell advertising for Rogers.
Nothing more, nothing less.
Eyeballs are eyeballs to a prostitute. At the end of the day, the penchant him & his colleagues have to kiss the feet of the Oilers to enhance player access will be remembered.
All of the ravings.
All of compliments.
All of the forecasts.
All of the predictions.
The lack of criticism.
The lack of reality.
The avoidance of any perception of negativity.
By pandering to a joke of a franchise Friedman and his fellow prostitutes become a joke.

Definitely not Yamamoto, especially with Pelletier in the wings. Both similar players and small, but Pelletier has way more upside potential at this point and is cheaper.
I would take a chance on Holloway though. I think he can still be saved. I just wouldn't want to help the Oilers to do it.

The thing about Holloway is that the Oikers completely wasted all his ELC years. He will he an RFA after this season. It would be more worthwhile if he still had another year or two on his current deal.

He was once very good, and I believe he can get back to that. But, it will take McHobo moving on from Edmonton, because it is no good.
