This was very much not the case. It was pretty much immediately known that Dubois wasn’t thrilled with being in Winnipeg long term.

Yeah. I think the Jets hoped his dad could change his mind.

That’s not how I recall it either. I think PLD was fine with being in Winnipeg and the thought was he would stay.

Nah I’m pretty sure it was the same when he asked for a trade out of Columbus. Just happened to give the kid some karma that he had to go to Winnipeg. To be fair he sucked it up and realized he’d just have to wait until he became a free agent.

The attitude stuff for me wasn't so much about requesting trades. If you are really unhappy, then I do believe it is your right to request a trade. After all, some coaches/situations can end up holding your career back, and costing you a lot of money down the road. Having two trade requests on two separate teams makes me raise an eyebrow, however, they were both two fairly 'dysfunctional' teams as well.
It was his lack of effort that makes me question it. I don't want any players on the Flames who if they find themselves 'unhappy', that they are just going to coast and not GAF. That's why I really disliked Kadri last year (with his selfish penalties on top of that). Backlund was not happy, but he gave it his all I thought. Huberdeau DEFINITELY was not happy, but I felt he always gave a full effort, and I especially noticed him doing so on the backcheck (the easiest way you can see if someone is giving a full effort).
If he works out on the Kings, that's going to be a better team (depending what the whole package ends up being). They have a really good young team right now with good vets still on it. They may be scary good in a short amount of time.

Nonetheless, seeing the return for Dubois should give us a better idea of what the market for Lindholm might be.

Well if the Kings nab PLD then the Jets are going to need a new C...

Lindholm isn’t signing long term in the Peg, so the return would be Garbo.

I think Wheeler is part of the problem in Winnipeg. That’s why he was stripped of the captaincy.

Sure is, they’re talking that they are buying him out. Only one season left, way to extract value in a trade.

Rumored returned was Iafalo and Vilardi I think?
If he goes to Montreal instead would we be happy with that for Elias?
Not sur I would.

Definite nah on my side.
I'd be after Clarke or Brandt from LAK (unlikely), outside of that there's not a lot of interest in that Kings system/Roster for me.
*lulz Clarke or Brandt.
Meant Clarke or Byfield.

Don't think Clarke will go anywhere after the Kings moved Durzi. They moved him to make room for clarke

Word is that Dubois is looking for a $9M salary, and this has become a sticking point for the deal.
The hubris on this kid...

Man Dubois is overrated.
Even with his career best season last year it pro-rates to 30 goals and 70 points. And he's not good defensively. So he's an offensive center, that's below average defensively, but doesn't really even produce offence at an elite clip.
But he wants $9M.
