Great string of luck. High picks and your odds are infinitely higher.

You're going to be very disappointed when the trade goes down. Best bet is a 10-15 overall pick this draft. Teams don't often trade high end prospects they already drafted for a player who is a UFA in a year.

Sutter did this when he was GM and it didn’t go well. I’ll pass on guys like Kris Chucko

Only 19 years old. Too early to say IMO.

He hasn't even turned 20, and has yet to play a full season of professional hockey.

A few people are going to be very disappointed when Lindholm is extended, and not traded after all.

I think the point is you don't have to draft good ol' western Canadian boys to acquire them, and players don't have to be from the area to stay with the team.
If you focus on drafting local for the sake of it, you're choosing to sabotage the potential of your team.
Can't wait for something to go down, just so we have something more tangible to discuss.

Giving away established talent seems silly unless it is for good value in return.
If some of the picks don’t work out then the team could be in a decade of irrelevance. It’s not my money. I am saying that the majority owner of the team probably wants a plan more than sell all the players, be bad for a few years, and see what you have if anything.

Mocked rightly so. They let Gaudreau walk for nothing. They let Gio, Brodie, Hamonic, walk for nothing. They gave away a 1st to trade Monahan. They had an opportunity to flip Tkachuk for a prime young asset and instead got 2 veterans who are almost untradeable, atleast for anything of worth. Somehow you view that as a plan? What a terrible spot we would be in with all those picks and cap space.

Swedes, Finns, and Czechs come from colder climates too. No problem drafting them.

What about him looks like a bust? He was drafted last summer and looks to have had a solid year production wise.

I think Wright has an attitude problem perhaps, but he will be a good player in a few seasons.

point being there is more than one way to get top players...I prefer trading for prospects and young NHLers rather than mid to late firsts.
