Credit where it's due, that was an impressive pair of drives to force OT. But an L is still an L and that was a horrific decision to throw that ball at the end.

This team has to overcome all kinds of injuries to the receiving corps. Fingers crossed that Henry is not out long term.

Looks like the clock has finally struck midnight. The Stamps for the first time in a long time don’t have a starting QB. Maier is a backup QB.

Is it really fair to pass judgement on him with the current state of the receiving corps being what it is?

I thought that Maeir made some really bad choices in the game, but, the receivers gave up on routes, didnt get open, and were generally awful. I actually have a more favourable view of Jake after watching this game than before it.

Yes.

He also had last season.

Arm strength and accuracy are massive issues.

Maier completed 75% of his passes last year.

Somebody has to catch the ball too.

I mean, 3 picks is obviously not good but our lack of receiving depth is really hurting us.

If receivers were dropping balls maybe you could blame them but he doesn’t even get it close to them on anything more than 10 yards. You can be a successful QB in any league but CFL in particular if you need the coach to scheme guys open for you.

This isn’t a receiver issue Maier sucks.

during the 1st a receiver gave up on a route that would have been a catch and run touchdown, and another receiver gave up on a 20 yard+ potential in the 2nd quarter.

Maier is no Flutie but that receiving corps has to get open and no botch routes. Warren Moon cant throw to a receiver who gave up on a route.

Watched the first half didn’t see either of those plays. Certainly saw him badly over throw every pass more than 5 yards though.

A bit sloppy from both teams at times but probably the most exciting game of the year so far. Close, lead changes, OT.

Harris once again seemed steady but unspectacular. The Riders still seem to run a pretty vanilla offence. Morrow was a beast back there. Leaned on him a bit to much at the end of the 4th but he nearly pulled it off.

The refs need to stop ruining big plays with flags. Especially returns. Unless it’s as obvious as that blindside block, stop throwing stupid holding and illegal block flags. They kept killing the momentum of the game. It’s not on the players either. Refs could throw a flag every play. For some reason on returns they call it super tight. Gotta let ‘em play.

Didn’t look like there was more than 22-23k there. Beautiful Saturday at 5pm against the riders and the crowd looked sparse. And say what you will about McMahon sucking but it’s actually quite suitable when the crowd is that small. There’s barely any line ups. Seats and sight lines are good. Unless you’re on the benches. Those are literal torture devices.

There's more that goes into receiver quality than just rate of dropped passes. Quality of route running, stop/start quickness, agility, ability to make guys miss, acceleration, speed, and overall awareness of each play including matchup knowledge (tendencies of the guy covering you).

Maier for the most part had a bunch of inexperienced receivers to throw to. Once Henry went down he really didn't have a go-to guy. Still, he engineered those 2 drives to force OT. He's a better QB than you're making him out to be.

Did he have some bad throws? Yes. But there's no need to panic. Over the course of the season he will show that he's a capable starter.

If I saw him getting close to receivers that are covered then I could see how receivers running better routes would help him out but at this point his throws over 10 yards are terrible. He has shown he can't come close to hitting receivers and that isn't because they aren't running the routes correctly, that is on his lack of arm strength and lack of touch on medium and long passes.

I won't panic because this season is already a write off and we were eventually going to have a season like this. I also think that although they are stubborn in believing in the players they bring in, I can't imagine DD and Huf are going to be fine with this level of QBing beyond this season, but I think we have seen more than enough to know that Maier is not the solution at QB and not nearly good enough.

Maier is on pace for 30 interceptions this season. You have to really work hard to come up with excuses for his play.

When he first came on the scene, I thought Jake was going to a good-to-very-good CFL quarterback. Currently, he reminds me of Matt Nichols.

All three of his interceptions yesterday had TD implications. His first resulted in a Riders goal to go TD and his other two took points off the board for the Stamps. The one off the leg was a fluke but if he was on target rather than behind the receiver it would have been a TD. His accuracy just hasn't been good this season. With all the injuries piling up it looks like it's going to be a tough season for this team.

I really preferred the Jake of last year to Bo. to me Jake would take care of the ball while Bo would make terrible decisions. at this point, he has lost that and needs to get it back. The d had a couple breakdowns but played well i feel, the picks as Erick Estrada mentioned all had TD implications. cant win like that
