I'm so excited for Treliving to sewer them.

His mistakes here are way too fresh still, there's no way he's learned yet.

As long as the team is somewhat competitive and in the playoff race, there will always be at least 18000+ fans at every home game. I think Ownership is perfectly fine with that.
We averaged just under 18,000 this year, coming off a season where we won the division and made huge offseason moves (for better or worst)

Anyone who thinks this team is having good attendance next year by running back an old team trying to finish 8th is dilusional

You couldn’t give away tickets last season . The only thing worst then bad results is no hope

I love that Matthews contract, and its going to put Treliving against the wall.

It'll be interesting to see what comes of that. I fully anticipate Matthews is going to be the highest paid player in the League for a while, I'm just not entirely convinced that its going to be in Toronto.

That Matthews contract is how you put the screws to a team. He bet on himself, and he bet big and I think he's win big.

Games were boring, watching Markstrom was cringe, new players stopped GAF later in the season. Watching Lucic chug around on the ice was laughable.

Having fresh faces brings fresh hope. Audiences can sense enthusiasm. And if new players suck, punt them and let's see more fresh faces.

It's hard to take a post seriously when there are three grammatical errors and one spelling mistake....

Not to mention Calgary's average attendance was identical to the Avs, within 100 of Vegas, more than NYR or Edmonton, and way more than LA.

I think that may be light. I'm expecting a 3 year, $45M contract.

Calgary needs to be redeemed in a huge way, and it starts with building up from the ground with an influx of young talent, then getting a state of the art barn. Then making Calgary the envy of the west for destinations.
Ya well we could not contain our laughter following the We Want Florida (tm) debacle.

There must be a documentary somewhere with a four camera shoot of their long faces following another playoff disaster.

Looks like the majority of Flames fans (~57%) blame ownership for the state of affairs.

Tie between Treliving and Ownership.

Making it to the conference finals just once in 33 years. What has been the one constant through all of it? The question answers itself.

Who hired "The Wizard"? Who hired Sutter? Who enforces this "make the playoffs every year" mandate that apparently nobody overrules?

There's a common denominator in all of this that continues to haunt the organization even now.

Whatever Monahan’s rookie year was (I think 2013/14?) the Flames were supposed to suck and did suck. And going to games was awesome because they left it all on the ice every night and worked their asses off.

Just saying, a rebuild doesn’t mean a poor on-ice product.

The Flames messed up huge not trading Gaudreau and Tkachuk for futures. Those could have been key pieces to a rebuild along with the 6 big UFAs this year. All those assets combined with sucking for 2-3 years and they probably would have had a really good young core in a short period of time. The longer they try to hold off a rebuild the longer and tougher the inevitable rebuild will be. It baffles me the lack of foresight this organization has. If it's all about money at the end of the day a 2 or 3 year rebuild gets you back in the money a lot quicker than a 6 or 7+ year rebuild. Last year was the most lackluster boring season in the past 20 years. At least prospects bring some hope, excitement, and most importantly effort. Burn this thing to the ground and build it back right.

2015-2016, 2017-18, 2020-2021 and 2022-23 were all significantly worse than that first rebuild year.

Treliving needed to go a few years ago. Its a shame now is when most are realizing that he wasn't that good.
