Okay with Lambert as the defensive coach...it's more like he's Huska's support in that role since really that's Huska's bread and butter.
Just didn't want Lambert if he was going to be running the PP and offense since the results in Nashville weren't great.
Savard has little experience in that matter but in his one season in St.Louis they were 4th in the league, and Windsor has been a wagon in the OHL.

Can't wait to hear Savard speak to the media. I am sure there will be some questions about his time as a player and the path that brought him back here. Must be kind of weird for him.

Looks like the focus is on a very quick transition and skating game with the D leading the charge.
Did Lambert coach the D in Nashville?
If so Josi 96 points in 2021/2022 and a 72 point pace last year.
I could see one of Weegar, Andersson or Kylington having a break out offensive season in the 70-80 point range.

@Fan960Steinberg
Head coach Ryan Huska broke down roles for the two new additions to his coaching staff with us:
Marc Savard will work with the team’s forwards and run the powerplay.
Dan Lambert will handle the defence and be in charge of the penalty kill. #Flames

So did our goalie coach situation remain unchanged? I see Labarbera but no Sigalet? Site lists Sigalet as "Senior Goaltending Coach" but the graphic yesterday doesn't show him.

Calgary is officially an Oilers-esque old boys club, love Savvy though but I don't know about this

He can't be a worse PP coach than Kirk effing Muller!

Also has anyone mentioned how awesome it is for Savard to be a coach in the NHL before Greg Gilbert got another sniff!??
Suck it Dogbert!

Lambert looks to have been a high point producing defender.
Excited about all the talk about offence and tempo. A huge turnaround from the dark Sutter time here.

Yeah, it wasnt the only culprit but it wasnt helping, thats for sure.
If you want to make the playoffs you've got to be at the very least 'middle of the pack' in most major categories.
1. Powerplay
2. Penalty Kill
3. Save Percentage
4. Goals for
5. Goals against
where we went:
1. 19 (Bad)
2. 5 (Really good!)
3. 72nd and 79th respectively (Atrocious)
4. 19 (Bad)
5. 20 (Pretty good)
But it shows us that we were not 'middle of the pack.'

Wow what an interview he wasn't he even asked and just started going on about how much he loved the city.
Sounds like the players will be allowed to enjoy coming to the rink again.

So is Ryan van Asten’s replacement the only spot left to be filled now?

Fits what Conroy wants - work hard defensively, but green light on offensive creativity. It does seem like the best possible situation for Huberdeau to have a bounce-back season - I would pick him early in my hockey pool.

Creative offensively and having fun at the rink. Hearing that stuff from the coaches is a massive breath of fresh air.

100% and also he sounds so excited to be a part of Calgary again and that makes me excited for him. I think this coaching staff is going to be really great actually and turn some heads. And that’s regardless of what players are involved.
Savard had a real tough go with concussions and depression. Really awesome to see him regain his life, stay in the NHL and then seem so happy and excited about this. Pretty cool.
