I would be happy if we could get a pick in the last third of the 1st round, nvm a mid-first. Still plenty of good players available there.

Sandman's latest 5 profiles added to Upside's profile page!
On Twitter account ( @UpsideHockey) will be trying to get more Top 10 and Top 20 posts - probably got approx. 10-12 of these to post.
It's beginning to lot a lot like Draftmas

I agree, because Hanifin and Lindholm are better than any UFA's, but far.
But those teams will need to feel extreme pressure to get a deal done prior to the draft, as each team would much prefer to give us 2024 draft picks.
But this is not a usual draft class, so looking at historical data on picks being exchanged for current assets may not be that relevant.

I always like Mackenzie's list, as I think his is always the closest to how it actually plays out with team selections - probably because it focuses more on consensus
I have no idea why, or reason to substantiate it, but I have had a feeling all along that we pick Danielson (and I do think we need to draft a C)
Would be awesome to get another pick in the 18-20 range and grab Simashev

Hope Danielson is prepared to no longer be an Oilers fan

Agreed - we may have gotten lucky (although E-Mac's hard work probably made his own luck), but for the 2022 draft, Upside's E-Mac's final rankings actually nailed down more prospects from the 1st round than even Bobby Margarita's list (only by 1 or 2 prospects mind you lol, but still...not bad).

what is the contract status of the other top Russians? If Michkov drops 5-8 spots due to contact and 'Russian factor', how much will the others drop? Have scouts seen these guys play as much or as little as they have seen Michkov?

Now I really want the Flames to trade for another mid 1st. Simashev and a Center would be the best friggin outcome for the Flames at this stage.
One can dream.

Great post. I hadn’t watched him until you suggested it. Unreal player at that age. Does it all. Skating looked terrific.

In the range where the flames are picking, he seems like the safest pick. That’s why I would love for the flames to find a way to acquire another 1st round pick in that range (13th to 18th overall) so they could do both the safe pick (Danielson/Yager) and the riskier pick (Sale/Wood/Perreault/Cristall).

It may be the BCHL Makar factor, but I have this weird feeling that Bradly Nadeau is going to end up being a steal either late 1st or early 2nd, his game looks so refined.

He's clearly a good skater, but doesn't have McDavid level speed so he's not going to be able to beat NHL defensemen outside consistently.
We desperately need a few skilled players that can drive the center of the ice. No more guys who play on the periphery.
|
Danielson does attack the middle, it’s part of his game, but in those clips he’s manipulating the middle of the ice by drawing defenders to him, and /or faking shots/passes, thereby opening space in the middle to pass to teammates. Manipulation, deception, and exploitation, lol.
