Nashville North's lineup won't be finalized until mid-May. There's still a few nights not booked on the site.

I don't know why people complain about the coke stage line up every year. Do you guys realize how small a venue it is? Most big bands wouldn't even think of playing on that tiny stage no matter how much money they are offered. Just take it for what it is, a minor stage for B list acts. If you like the act, go see them, if you don't, then don't go. I don't know why some people sound like they are utterly disgusted and offended if they hear about a non A list act playing,. Well hey the non A list bands have to play somehwere......

Myself, I'll probably check out good charlotte.... but I'm kind of wierd .

That's exactly it... its a free show.

Personally, I think they should do what K-days does (the ONLY thing K-days does better then the stampede) to charge a small fee ($15) to get a bigger stage and a better place to put on the show.

For those interested, The Road Hammers are actually pretty good and (I've heard) a damn good show live.

That said, nothing on this years bill (or even a few years previous) could hold a candle to last years Corb Lund set.

God that was thirteen shades of awesome

People will always find something to complain about.

I am pumped to see Sloan on the Coke stage once again!

No kidding, for 12$ or whatever it is, decent value.

Although Tom Cochrane is the only I'd go down and see. Maybe he could cover "Lightning Crashes" and "Money City Maniacs", and I'd be completely content and not miss anything from Sloan and Live.

Some great songs...forever linked in my mind to the Flames 1989 Channel 2&7 wrap up show..if you have th eDVD I sold here 3 years ago, or still have the tapes somewhere, you'll know what I mean.

Tom Cochrane, a great guy too.

Remember, as possibly soon as next year, the Coke Stage is part of the expansion I think...meaning a whole new location (bigger).

Yeah, come on people.. The Coke Stage isn't meant for BIG name acts. A lot of bands that are just that played the Coke Stage in the beginning (Nickleback, 3DG, etc.)

I saw Hinder and Blue October here in Vancouver at the Commadore a few months ago. Great rock shows.

I happened to be at K-Days last year when Nelly Furtado played and because of that 15$ charge she was playing to an empty space. No one wants to spend that money after they've coughed up $10 bucks to get in. Stampede has the right idea.

Yeah, what the hell?! Corb Lund was great last year I'm suprised they aren't coming back. I really hope they had prior committments or something but I'm guessing they weren't even sent an invite so such Stampede friendly bands like Good Charolette and 3 Days Grace could make an appearance.

Boourns, I've been looking forward to another Corb Lund Stampede set since last year's Stampede!

For all the people saying this year has a bad lineup, what was better last year? There might be some good bands - I don't remember them all. I saw Thornley (the Big Wreck guy) and I remember seeing the guy from Moist as I walked by (David Usher?) No better than Live and Sloan, in my opinion.

I know Live would have been a much bigger deal, say, 10 years ago, but I'd guess that a lot of people in their mid to late twenties would go see them, and that's a pretty big part of their demographic.

See above ^

Corb Lund and his band were undeniably the greatest set I have ever seen played at the Stampede any year I have ever gone in my entire life living inCalgary (24 years)

Corb Lund is indeed awesome. I've only seem him play at other venues, but I can only assume the Stampede version was just as good (if not better, from all the positive talk here).

That's the thing though, Corb Lund is not a huge famous act, he's just a really GOOD act. That's my problem with the Stampede, a lack of quality, not quantity.

Corb Lund is a perfect fit for the Stampede and should be signed on to play on the Coke stage every year. An award winning country-esque band (certainly not your typical country... more like roots country/folk I guess) that sings about the Alberta/Western/Cowboy lifestyle and plays a great live set. What other band are you going to find that fits the whole Stampede mold so well? Especially when people come from out of the province and country to see what the Stampede is all about and we trump it up to be some sort of unique Calgary experience.

That said, Corb Lund plays at Ranchman's on July 12th so at least they are in town during the Stampede...

Corb Lund plays in Calgary every 2 months....He is not a big attraction, anyone in Alberta can see him twice or three times a year. He does put on a great show, but seeing Corb Lund live is not a rarity. He's probably got a show or two in Calgary during Stampede anyway.
