Just like the offensive shot count has to be looked at sometimes with a critical eye, so does the defensive count.

Obvioulsy he needs to stop some. But if there are 10 in a game and he stops 7 that's still already 3 goals against, plus the PKs etc.

The year before some posters downplayed his shutouts as too easy. But that's the whole thing - goalies numbers can vary wildly because even over a season the difference between great stats and poor ones isn't that huge.

Quite the imagination Spector has. Trade a 24 yr old former 1st rounder who is approaching bust territory and has a bad contract, a decent 3rd line center and a 2nd round pick.

For that impressive package they get a PPG 30 goal man on a good contract, a depth NHL dman who has played over 200 games and a 3rd round pick.

Seeler and Yamamoto have about the same value so basically he thinks Konecny is worth every so slightly more than Ryan McLeod.
absolutely laughable

my favourite part is Philly throwing in a 3rd rounder. They upgrade their pick slightly to take on a cap dump and a B prospect

Seems like Huska recognizes the issue we will see but it was pretty obvious.

Probably one of the most frustrating parts about Sutter's coaching last year the lack of adjustments when it was evident the team was struggling mightily playing man on man defence and our goalie was being raked over the coals.

Several teams would beat that offer. Yet another reason to believe there really is something in the water up there.

There is no contradiction.

Where we finish would depend on what other moves we made.

Expected from him because he needs to go to personal attacks to take away from the fact he has no argument.

Macleod isn't even signed and has arb rights. They nickeled and dimed him last year because they needed room and could only give him a one year.

After listening to the BB guys today and their convo about a post Hanifin D corps,

I'm fairly confident in the remaining 5 d men that have spots locked up.

Weegar/Anderson
Kylington/Tanev
*****/Zadorov

Re-sign Stetcher and perhaps sign another 6/7 and you're doing pretty okay.

I'm not worried for 1 single second about Kylington. In fact I'm of the belief he's going to blow the doors off next season. Rookie season 30 points paired with Tanev. And less Sutter punishment for eff ups. Yup, full on Kylington is going to be great.

And if Tanev goes down, Stetchers a guy who can fill the void for a stretch.

Move Hanifin for a Center prospect and a pick. Do it. The deals out there, I know it.

Dennis Gilbert deserves a good look for 6/7. No need to go outside the organization.

Gilbert as the 7th D that can go in for Stetcher, and sign Stone as the 8th D + whatever depth in the AHL. I really think we should trade Hanifin - I am more than alright with D core above and do not see Hanifin as a necessary piece moving forward

Time to move on from Stone and I think Stetcher would be his replacement.

Outside of his big inaccurate shot is he just isn't that good especially when he is in for long stretches.

I think Stone is going to sign a two way in Calgary or nothing. Might even go Wranglers 100% and then he's an easy mid season emergency signing if they want to save a roster spot.

I could also see Stone signing a two-way contract since the Wranglers are based in Calgary. Could still play a few games as a depth player. Costs the Flames practically nothing except a contract spot. The Wranglers could also use some good depth on the back end.

Since Calgary just let a bunch of former draft picks walk, I'm assuming Calgary has quite a few spaces in terms of the 50 man roster limit.
