Coke stage is the worst place on the planet to watch a concert. I'm surprised they can even get acts of this level to play there.

I dunno where you heard that, I think the last time Live was in town I was 16 and had to sneak in to the Back Alley to see them play, and man was it AWESOME.
Why are you guys complaining, some of these acts are great. Sometimes bands put on a great show and really surprise you, the Coke stage has never let me down, hell, its the only reason I still go to the stampede, that and beer with hot ladies....
Live - my #1 choice, write me in INK, cuz I'll be there.
Tom Cochrane - #2 he puts on a good show and I'll try and make it.
Sloan - #3 These guys rock.
Three Days Grace - Again, not the greatest, or most well known, but a good Canadian band that puts on a good show.
Hinder - Alright, but not great.
Good Charlotte - Ugh, not my thing, but popular none the less.
Locke.

Am I blind? Where do you guys keep seeing Tom Cochrane? And no Hinder and Three Days Grace are not okay. They're terrible but whatever, I don't have to listen to them.

This bad line up is why I will be spending any time that I am at the Stampede at Nashville North, and far far away from the Coke stage.

Interesting note. I found out yesterday that the Stampede is paying Live $140,000 to play. Waaaay more than that band is worth. Stampede has some serious cash to throw around.

I saw LIVE last year when they opened for some band that will remain nameless for the sake of my reputation, and for the sake of this thread.. They put on a really good show.

Well, I'm definitely going to see Live. Hopefully they play a lot of their older stuff (Throwing Copper, Secret Samadhi).
And Sloan's alright - might go to that one too.

Which makes it all the more pathetic that the lineup is so lame. The Stampede seriously needs some youth or something in their ranks, those old boys clearly have no clue what consitutes a good lineup these days.
In my opinion, the Nashville North lineup is pretty questionable as well (btw, time to get the Nashville out of that name, it sounds pretty bush to mention another city in your own signature event). I mean they have a band called Merqury...a tribute band to Queen for frickin sake. I love Queen, but come on, how about getting some real acts to play this thing?
With the number of people that flow through the Stampede, we could be getting some name country/folk musicians to attend. Maybe I am in the minority, but I would love to see old-school headliners like Neil Young, Kris Kristopherson and Willie Nelson, or smaller quality acts like Iris Dement or the Supersuckers...hell, get the Dixie Chicks.

I wouldn't call Tom Cochrane a b-list act.
Also Prairie Oyster is playing at Nashville North on the 7th.

I would. He might have been A-list 15 years ago but not know. That's like saying Kim Mitchell isn't a B-list act.

I can't speak for country but I don't think the line up is that bad....doesn't really suit my personal taste but Three Days Grace is huge all over North America, Hinder had a big year and Good Charlotte has a HUGE teenage girl following. Blue October and Live are both decent American bands too. Asking the Stampede to be eclectic when the goal is to get as many people through the gate as possible is a little much I think. They booked some pretty big, relevant bands when they probably good have had Honeymoon Suite for much less.

That's a pretty sad line up, not one of those bands could convince to go down to the stampede this year. Usually they have one decent act but I don't know what happened this year.

Possibly Sloan...
I might go see trooper @ Nashville North though.
I don't know any other songs of theirs other than "raise a lil hell" though.

Oh come on who could forget the classic 'Three Dressed Up as a 9' !
