Except they absolutely didn't clearly indicate that, as our echo chambers has effectively debunked over and over for you, but I guess it isn't enough.

I get out pretty regularly. A car meet is one of the last places I desire to be at any time.

CBC had recently changed the headline to "Nurse union leader says change comes as some workers experience 'mask fatigue'". I certainly don't recall that headline originally.
What does that have to do with your statement that lifting the mask requirement was the “wishes of the nurses union”?

Neither the headline nor the quote support what you stated. Some members wanting something does not mean the Union overall wants it. It’s plausible that the majority do want that but again you haven’t provided anything that supports that theory and I’ve yet to find anything anywhere which suggests that to be the case. I’m not sure why you’re having so much difficulty making the distinction between what was said and what you want to have been said.

Twitter was full of outrage with a petition started against the UNA for her comments about mask fatigue. The official statement was clearly needed.
That doesn’t change the fact that you’ve either misinterpreted or misrepresented what was said. Just because a bunch of random people on twitter did the same doesn’t make what you wrote any less inaccurate.

I doubt it, or I would have gotten an appointment sooner as the backlog was worked through.

I'm sure if we wait patiently, he'll politely apologise for making something up and then lashing out when people offer a more logical interpretation that turns out to be... exactly correct.

At very least, I assume he still respects the wishes of the nurses' union even though they differ from what he claimed they were, given all they went through during the pandemic.

Had a weird random thought. Someone has posted on here, kinda in jest, that older people should not have as much voting power as younger people.

Maybe we should go down that road, and maybe what should happen is your vote doesn’t count for a much unless you have children. If you don’t have kids, all you are looking out for is yourself, if you have kids, you might vote to look out for future generations.

More of a random thought, and I’m not really serious. More kids, more voting power!!

Wow, that could be a disaster. Hahaha

That'd just lead to a downward spiral of parties catering to parents with more and more tax breaks and gifts that the country would be screwed in under 5 years.

And you do realize not everyone who would like kids is able to have them, right? That's like cruelty on top of sadness.

I'm not sure Doc would like giving more power to youth. They tend to vote more progressively.

Country would be screwed in under 5 years is a bit dramatic. I agree with your second point though.

Maybe best to give each voter an even amount of voting power, since everyone is supposed to be equal and all.

You have to hit up the thread to see all the closures(this isn't just covid) and man, there are a lot of rural healthcare facilities closed or unable to do many things. Good thing they voted in their own best interest...what a disaster.

Personally, I'd be all for a basic general knowledge test to qualify someone to vote to weed out the dumbest of the dumb, but the problem is that I don't trust anyone to come up with the questions.

Catering to parents with tax breaks isn’t a terrible option. Parents having children subsidize the lifestyles of those who don’t be creating the generation of taxpayers that will pay for your old age

At very least, they should lower the voting age to 16 or even 14. If you can work a job, you can vote. I don’t see how that’s controversial, especially when governments run on whether they would cut or increase your wages and you have no control.

Alternatively (or even in conjunction with the above) cut it off at 65. Once you’ve hit retirement age and you’re back to being a financial drag on society like children are, it’s time to hand the keys over.

I'd say lower the age to 16. They're learning about civics, government, etc at that age. I think the maturity argument can be countered by the fact that they're legally able to drive unsupervised at that age as well.

edit: drafted, but submitted well after PF

Just allow kids a vote but it has to be whatever their parents want them to vote. Then you account for the full population. Gets them involved in the conversation and then at 16 can make their own choice.

Does that mean teens are going to have to go back to getting jobs?
