I messaged this one girl once, basically just said hi and asked about some basic info. She responded to me telling me that she was so happy I messaged her and how sad she was because her mom and her dog died (not exaggerating here), how she moved to Africa temporarily to get away from her life and how she was so glad she found someone who can make her happy again because she was moving back soon. She also kept calling me "honey" in the e-mail. Crazy lady!

Mostly you have to pay. I haven't found free sites where you can contact other people. You can register for free, but then you have to wait for others to contact you.
