Such a kind gesture by you, you know, being pride month and all!!

Trudeau should have know better, Johnston never should have been put in that position.

  • Longtime family friend of the Trudeaus, and ski buddies
  • Significant non-trivial ties to Chinese trade through his own Rideau Hall Foundation
  • Refusal to step down after a majority parliament vote and inexplicable defense against recommending a public inquiry
  • Johnston's resignation come less than 24 hours after he was confronted by Globe and Mail on his use of Navigator who coincidentally also was used by Dong in recent months.

Trudeau should have never put Johnston in a position where he would be viewed at the very minimum to be in an appearance of a conflict of interest. Trudeau all but guaranteed the report to be tainted before it was even created.

But remember, it's all Poilievre's fault.

Is the Trudeau "brand" or reach so large in Canada that its difficult finding qualified people who haven't directly made money/benefitted from them?

That has to be his defence soon enough here.

“Fixing” someone’s meme and making it dumber is almost too corny to believe.

That... didn't make it dumber. It was already exceptionally dumb.

Sounding like public inquiry is now on the table.

Mainstreet poll:

I don’t have an opinion about what this poll tells us. I’m posting it only because I was actually polled for this one—the first time for me! I have never responded to an election poll before.

My actual thoughts: we are still pretty far from an election, so the picture is going to be quite blurry. If you’re the CPC you have to like the fact that Mainstreet has you consistently ahead in Ontario though. Stephen Harper mastered the path to 24 Sussex for a conservative that runs through suburban Toronto and rural Ontario, and if Poilievre can follow that road map he will win. Not a majority in all likelihood, but he will be prime minister.

I think the question around the federal election is has Trudeau made himself unelectable enough that people currently polling as NDP won’t come home to the liberals.

Seems you miswrote, as you mean making it better and more accurate clearly.

Seems you need help on memes?

Surely you didn't thank that one meme solely based on partisanship bias did you? Consider that Singh called Johnston tone-deaf earlier.

In a written statement, Singh said he is “very disappointed” with Johnston’s “lack of understanding of the importance of such a vote” and his quick dismissal of the result.

“With all due respect to the service of Mr. Johnston and his previous public service, I believe that his response to the vote on our motion is tone-deaf,” wrote Singh.
Singh also used O'Toole's statement calling out Johnston's credibility at 9:00 and spoke about appearance of bias and how he should step down.

So either you agree with Poilievre / Singh as both share the same belief on this subject, or you are defending Trudeau and Johnston and are against the NDP / Singh's wishes. So which is it?

Neither, I just think you’re bad at memes and thought Johnny’s was funnier than yours, which was an incredibly low bar. Partly because I enjoy Eric Andre and that specific meme format and he just did it better, partly because I think PP is a dweeb and like laughing at him, and partly because I think you have a tendency to be one, too.

Screaming “partisanship bias!” and coming up with low-effort false dichotomies because someone made fun of your meme attempt doesn’t really do anything to dispel the last point.

I don’t know man, maybe when someone does a meme of the guy deciding which button to push you can take another shot at playing off their idea. Practice makes perfect.

I noticed you completely dodged my question by saying neither and resorted to attacks instead, must sting that I am right

You also seem unrationally frazzled about a meme that took me a minute to make and for which it likely took JohnnyB the same time. It's just a meme (albeit a better one after correction)

Poilievre / Singh or Trudeau / Johnston. This should be an easy one, yet it seems it isn't based on your last post. I can perfectly say I side with Singh here without eye twitching. Can you do the same?

“Unrationally frazzled” from the guy going on paragraph number eight of his response to his meme being called corny.

Ah, I see the party of respectability has taken a few moments to let Trudeau catch his breath so that they could...grind on Maxime about the WEF? Hoo boy.

Can’t wait until the CPC starts ending their tweets with, “Are you awake yet?”

World Economic Forum has some of the best, informative, and easily digested-sized content on the web today. And political leaders, business executives, intellectuals, and other influential figures gather regularly around the world to discuss matters, WEF or otherwise.

I am going to assume that if PP doesn't like institutions like the WEF, then neither he or any of his future Cabinet will be attending any global conferences, events, or discussions because they have ideological grievances against globalism, even though Canada is intertwined in the global economy and deeply rooted in international treaties, agreements and organizations and people have greatly benefited in quality of life from it.

I mean it makes sense - isolationism does go hand-in-hand with fervent (right-wing) nationalism, something the CPC loves to pander to anyways with no shame.

1) If you can't recognize that Poilievre enthusiastically participated in attacking Johnston (Who was it that kept hammering the "ski buddy" phrase you're using?) before sending out a tweet blaming his political opponent for the damage, then you have a problem with partisanship.

2) It is certainly not a case of either being on one side or the other. A person correctly pointing out that something a politician said is hypocritical/dishonest does not commit that person to holding any other views. I think Poilievre is a toxic ###### regardless of my thoughts on Trudeau.

The way I see it, in the current setup by LeBlanc and the Liberals and a possible public inquiry, where he basically said to the opposition parties, you decide on who and the structure, that it will never get done.

They'll never agree on a person, they'll never agree on a format. And if they by miracle do, then they'll go to the Liberals who will simply turn it down.

The Liberals have the mechanics to kill this thing for years.

Going to who to put in, its the logger head as well. You're not going to find a judge or legal mind that's not politically involved.

As it stands as well LeBlanc is indicating that they want to find a replacement for Johnston, that's a no go for opposition, because in no way shape or form are they going to agree to another crap show special Rapporteur and they shouldn't. All we got was a shoddy report based on information that the Liberals decided to give him.

In terms of who to bring in to run it. I wonder about flexibility, in terms or a public inquiry. Let the Liberals delegate or select one judge, the opposition another and put a tie breaker lead in the middle that can be agreed on by all side.

In terms of names. What about someone like Walter Natyncyk or Rick Hillier. Both former Chiefs of Defense Staff. What about bringing in someone from out of country. like Scott Morrison the former PM of Australia? Or former US President Donald Trump (I kid I kid).
