I think the Chiefs over used Johnson big time last year and may have potentially shortened his career by doing so. He also doesn't seem to have the right attitude to be a back for a championship team either. If they move him they move him, talented player who's undoubtably put up great numbers, but from this point going forward he's a guy who carries substantial risk.
BTW one week to the draft!!

Hopefully Bennett can come in and take more of the carries this season. He had some great runs last year. He just can't stay healthy.
Whitock had mentioned in a story, that you read, that team mates thought it would be a big mistake to give LJ a big contract. I usually take what Whitlock says with a grain of salt. But where there is smoke, there is usually fire.

The Kansas City Chiefs have traded return ace Dante Hall to the St. Louis Rams for a 5th round pick.
Whatever happened to that guy anyways?? In 2003 he was the biggest X-factor in the league. One of the fastest falls from grace I've ever seen in this league.

Well he was around for a year or two prior to 03, and lets face kick return guys who rely on that extra speed have a limited shelf life until their play slips. The old addage that the legs are the first thing to go, and if a kick retuner doesn't have great speed it will affect his ability to return the ball effectively. Halls been the Cheifs main return guy for 5-6 seasons and it's unlikely he'll regain his old form.
I think this pretty much determines that the Chiefs may just grab a receiver or corner with their top pick who can return kicks.

That's what I was just thinking. Maybe Herm is looking at a certain Mr. Ginn from Ohio State.

He'll have to move up.

I don't know, A first round pick for a kick returner is costly. They have to think that Ted Ginn will be a starting WR, probably in year 1 to draft him this early, and if so, his special teams duty would be limited, if any.

New Orleans Saints sign former Colts CB Jason David (Colts officially decline to match the Saints RFA offer this morning. btw David's from Edmonton)

Another thing to consider with Dante's decline is the fact that he had a differant Speacil Teams coach. In his hey day he had Frank Ganz Jr as a coach and Mike Mazlowski and Gary Stills blocking for him. His production went down when all three of those guys were out of the picture. But his physical ability is obviously declining as well. If he was a better reciever I could see the Chiefs wanting to keep him around. But since he has pretty much been a bust at the WR position. Hard to justify a spot for an average return man.
Good bye Human Joy Stick.

You sound like a Colts fan. Can you give me the lowdown on David? Since I heard about us offering him a contract sheet last week, I've read his bio and everything. But that still doesn't help very much, I don't remember anything about him from watching Colts games.

Strange draft when you look back at it.
Couch, McNabb then Smith - and McNabb was booed by the Philly fans.
Culpepper at 11, Cade McNown at 12.
Ditka trading away his draft to get Ricky Williams. The Vikings also at #29 taking Dimitrius Underwood.

LOL...yeah, Eagles fans really wanted Ricky Williams. I don't think anyone has questioned a Reid draft since. A couple of 1st round blunders (Jerome McDougle and Freddie Mitchell) but overall one of the top 5 drafting teams in the league.

I watched almost every Colts game the last 4 or 5 years so I can give you at least what "I" see in him. First off it's good he's going to another Dome team because his speed is his biggest assett. Just like a lot of Colts defensive players, he's pretty undersized, so he's not going to be locked up against a #1 or #2 guy man to man anytime soon. He fits well into zones and swarms the ball rather good. With David, what you see is what you get, and that's not an insult. He was durable with the Colts and for the most part was reliable. Not to mention he is rather young so there's a lot of room for him to still grow.

Besides June, I'm not really to upset over any of the other players the Colts have lost. The Colts are very deep in the secondary, Harper and David are both solid corners but will not have a devestating effect on the defense. Rhodes has enough trouble off the field right now that I coudl care less where he's playing and Monte Reagor in an average DT.
Given the extra draft picks the Colts pick up from losing these guys, and how Polian is good at finding talent, I'm not ready to jump off the wagon yet

He can support the run defense well, hard to block and is a good tackler.

That kind of came out of nowhere as Grant's people had met with the Bucs several weeks ago, trying to force the Saints hand, and they didn't budge. Grant had also been mentioned in trade rumours, but I like the move, he is a leader on the defence and a very good player.

He never gets injuried and DE's are better if you have studs on both sides. Both Grand and Will Smith are better players because of this deal. Proof is last year they made highway #22 look like a good corner for half of the season.
