Enjoying watching an underdog team going on a long run in the playoffs with numerous inspiring performances? How shameful of me!
As I said, it's nothing against Huska.

Conroy made it crystal clear when he was hired that he wanted a defensively structured team in their own end but wanted offensive creativity with the puck in the other end.
But now he's going to hire a HC that doesn't share that same vision?

Lol! I was going to actually joke about Mark Stone, but I dont actually think he'd be a terrible choice.
There are worse choices.

Huska ran a good PK which is extra important for a team that plays team Powerplay up north as much as the Flames do. I don't mind a coach who runs a good defense.
Lord let's hope Wolf makes the jump and excels this year. I can't watch another season with the same goaltending as last year. Pure. Unadulterated. Trash.

Among all the calls and meetings Love is probably dealing with, I doubt he's taking time out of that to update his cousin on how he's feeling about the verdict which is still very fresh.
And if I'm wrong and you really are his cousin, I hope that's just congratulatory kind of happy for someone in the organization that he's probably interacted with a fair bit, and not relief that he didn't get chosen.

I don’t care if you believe it or not.
It’s my cousin not Loves. He told me yesterday that Huska was told/signed weds. (I’ve been saying this before Friedge mentioned it)
My cousin isn’t Love or Huska. He’s lives in Calgary and has a connection in the organization somehow. He’s not part of the organization, however He was very certain it was a done deal. I’m passing it on. Maybe he’s got wrong info, but after I posted EF came out and now Weekes is confirming it. So I believe him. He’s never BSed about this before.

I think he was talking about Paulie Walnuts/Paulie Love stating he was his cousin.

Usually I get blamed for being a negative fan but although this hire certainly doesn't excite me it doesn't piss me off either. Surprised by the strong reactions by some but I guess I also didn't think Love would be a great hire so I don't have the emotions around that and I imagine most of the strong negative views are from folks that wanted Love.

Why do so many people think that Huska is going to be an offensive black hole.
Huska ran the Defense when Gio had his 74 point season, Huska has put a system in place that has allowed Anderson to become a very effective offensive d-man. Zadarov had his best offensive season under Huska, Gudbranson had his best offensive year under Huska, Gio had his best year under Huska and the liat goes on.
Sometimes you can't judge someone solely based on the position they have been in. I am all for hiring someone to run the PP and help with the offense but some people need to calm down a bit before painting into a defensive minded coach.
In his tenure as head Coach in the Dub his clubs didn't appear to have trouble scoring. With the Heat he had some pretty horrible teams and was able to squeeze quite a bit out of them.
Trust the process, this could be a good thing. Give the guy a chance before you run him out of the city.

It also makes sense. Why would you want the young prodigy and/or the runner up looking over your shoulder
Not as knowledgeable about all the potential coaches as others. More after a publicised large, detailed search the best 2 candidates for the 2 most important jobs in the organisation were already in Calgary???

Promoting Conroy after him being through the ups and downs, but then overlooking a similar situation with Huska and leapfrogging him with Love would be hypocritical.
Bottom line, if (big if) the coach was going to be an internal promote it makes the most consistent sense to have Huska over Love for lots of reasons.
