I was wondering if the compensation would get any better considering the extra year the Devils were able to give but I guess not. We have seen negotiating rights traded for 3rd round picks a few times in the past. I was interested to see if a 2nd or something would be needed to get the sign and trade.

What a massive deal. Man, can't envy Jarmo's position in Columbus, nobody wants to play there and has to overpay every single guy.

that's a long term commitment for Severson.
Seversons pretty good, but I'm not sure anything particular stands out, he's kind of the 3rd/4th D man every team has...
Columbus has to be going for it, definitely moving to be competitive this year there's no way they are rebuilding any longer.

They'll need to keep that top pick to save on cap now, as I doubt they could really fit in Lindholm long term.

Yeah he seems to be reasonably effective in both ends… more like a complimentary top pair guy.

Defense set. Lindholm might be more interesting to them if he’d sign there. Sillinger + 24 1st looking more appealing to CBJ after setting up their defense.
