Toronto: Backlund (25% retained by Philly), Hart
Philadelphia: 28th OA (BOS 1st), Murray, 2024 3rd (NYI), #10-15 ranked prospect from Calgary, 2024 2nd/3rd (Flames making playoffs)
Calgary: Konecny
Philly made it clear they are becoming a dumping ground. You'll get a top 3 pick guaranteed with Murray and Petersen at helm. Toronto gets their goalie and 3C, Calgary gets a much-needed RW upgrade. Roll with Konecny and Toffoli as your top 6 RWs.

That seems reasonable FFF. Toronto might not be anteing up enough. Maybe the B grade prospect could come from them instead of us.

Feels like a bad return for the flyers.
I dont think a conditional 2nd+ stromgren+ backlund gets you kocecny.
And I don't think murray+late 1st+ 3rd gets hart+backlund.
It would be like
Toronto:
Gives knies+murray+32nd
Gets backlund+hart
Flames:
Give backlund+zary/1st
Get konecny
Philly:
Give konecy+hart
Get 32nd oa + knies + murray + zary/1st
No sure even that feels like enough since boston 1st is so late.

You'd better be sure Lindholm is back.

Our first this year?
I don’t think trading our 1st this year should happen unless we are moving up or getting a legitimate #1 C especially with Lindholms situation looming.
Again Konecny doesn’t move the needle enough to give up so much, he’s a great complimentary piece of which our team is already very full of.
We need difference makers/game breakers right now if you’re going to start moving our best draft capitol.

They can have UFA a year earlier. And if they tied contract length eligibility to production, they could have it two years earlier.
UFAs are all eligible for 3 year contracts by default.
If you want more than 3 years, you need unlock that like an XBOX achievement.
You have to have a 40 point season for a 4 year deal. 50 points gets 5 years.
McDavid scores 150 -he should be allowed to sign a 15 year deal, if he wants.
I know there’s more to hockey than points, but players that have never demonstrated an ability to up 30 points a year don’t deserve franchise-crippling term.
Long-term, teams will be Able to improve faster with fewer bad contracts league wide. There will be a bigger pool of competent veterans available every July.
More pending UFAs means more trades and deadline acquisitions.
More Player movement means more interest, and more money for the league.
And younger UFA ages mean those guys you give big term and dollar on the open market actually earn it.
It’s not a perfect system I’m sure, but what we’ve got has produced a gridlock that is bad for the sport.

Again, you're gonna have to define production for me. Or, rather, for guys like Tanev, Pesce, Pelech or (back in the day) Regher.

So, dmen don't get long term contracts. And goalies get 3 years max.
Hockey would become strictly an offensive game, as all players would simply care about scorong points. it would be like an all star game.

Might as well just get rid of guaranteed contracts and make players UFA after their ELCs.
If a GM is dumb enough to go all in on a bad contract that is on them. No one forced Tre to sign Brouwer, Neal, and Huberdeau

If the Flyers are shipping out players, there's a few players I would love to grab other than the obvious choice, Konecny:
-There was rumours around the end of the season that Philly was going to explore trading winger Joel Farabee. He's had some injury issues in the years prior to 2022-23, but he put up 39 points in 82 games this year, after a very slow start. He's only 23, and his production will only go up, plus he's mean, and hard-nosed despite being only 6'0". Big fan of this kid.
-C/W Scotty Laughton is 28, but plays a gritty (no pun intended) two-way game, and chips in on the offense, with 43 points in 73 games this year.
-Wade Allison is a 6'2" winger who has spent more time on the IR than in the lineup the last 4 years, but I'm a fan. He's still only 24, and he's a big, physical power-forward that might look ideal in our bottom-6. He may have lost some of his scoring potential though, and some speed (he wasn't very fast to begin with) with all the injuries, though.
-D Travis Sanheim played for the Hitmen, and he's 27 with a 6'3" frame. Good skater and two-way, all-around player.

I can see a situation where the Flames move Lindholm and/or Hanifin for a 1st and then move that 1st or their own to the Flyers for Konecny. Similar to how they turned Tanguay into Cammalleri back in 2008.

He seems like a great compliment for Huberdeau too. High compete level, good speed.

Meh, I don't fall for highlight videos. College basketball and hockey juniors show you can't trust the skill shown. Simply put a broken clock is right twice a day, and by the same token a particular skill could be shown off but consistency is where it's at. Every single NHLer has flashes of brilliance at times but the true ones are consistent. I haven't followed Konecny's career closely to say one way or another but watching a highlight video or select plays is a recipe for disaster.
