Default Hot Fuzz & some Flames

I went to watch the pre-screening of Hot Fuzz tonight at Chinook. While my friend and I were going in I noticed Craig Conroy, Wayne Primeau and Noodles waiting for someone. The last I thing I wanted to do was bother them on their day off but I went over and congratulated them about last night and wished them luck for tomorrow. They were pretty friendly and as always, Craig Conroy was the most chatty. I must say though that I never realized how big Wayne Primeu is until I stood in front of him just about chest high.

As for the movie now, it was such a fun experience. Edgard Wright and Simon Pegg are an awesome comedic team and for those of you who watched Shaun of the Dead you're gonna absolutely love this one. As one of the taglines for the movie says..."From the guys who watched every action movie ever made" this one is filled with so many obvious and hilalrious references from Bad Boys to Desperado and pretty much every John Woo flick ever made. This is defenitely a must see for movie lovers because it was made by movie lovers. The only notable I must mention, there are pretty gory scenes that are kind of unexpected at times but are still funny.

Why the heck was Noodles at a movie theatre? You'd think he'd be sick of popcorn by now.

Yeah. It was a joke. Not a very good one, apparently.

I wonder who they were waiting for.

I like seeing Flames places.

When I saw Huselius at Joey Tomato's, and he winked at me, I'm pretty sure my life was complete. I may be drunk right now... but having Huselius (or any Flames player) wink at you is a dream come true for a girl.

Hot Fuzz was terrible... I saw it with 4 other guys and the only person that liked it was the drunk guy. It had a few funny moments but, I would only recommend it as a rental.

I will also add that I loved Shaun of the Dead...

Saw this movie over the weekend, I loved it! Funniest movie I've seen in a long time. I actually thought I wouldnt like it that much, British humour's kind of hit and miss with me(dry, sarcastic British humour(ie Faulty Towers)=outstanding. Zany, off-the-wall British Humour(Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Universe)=awful). But I thought it was great. Lots of hilarious, absolutely unexpected scenes. I love some of the lines too.

Chief: Yeah but he had one thing you dont
New Guy(forget the main guy's name already): What's that?
Chief(all excited): A great, big bushy beard!!!

The main character's name was Nicholas Angel. I found the dialogue to be the best part, so many funny lines.

Nicholas Angel: The swan's escaped, right, and who might you be?
PI Staker: Mr. Staker, yeah, Mr. Peter Ian Staker.
Nicholas Angel: P.I Staker? Right, Piss Taker! Come on!

Man I can't wait to see this flick. I LOVED Shaun of the Dead, I can't remember the main guy's real name ( I could look it up, but meh ), he has to be one of the funniest comedic british actors I've seen. Absolutely great performances and his timing is fantastic...

Can't wait!

Love that they do the fence thing again....

Saw hot fuzz over the weekend. I thought the first half the movie was just alright...nothing special. It was funny, but it wasn't "laugh my ass off" funny....

....Not until the second half that is!! HOLY mother of hell!!

SPOILER WARNING!!

When Angel came back to the town and started kicking ass. Now THAT was awesome. Probably the funniest parts of the movie were the huge battle sequence between the cops and the old people. That was pure gold.

I loved all the homages to older action flicks, but my favorite has to be the Clint Eastwood/Dollars Trilogy homage when he comes back into the town square on horseback with a toothpick in his mouth. That and the priest doing his Desperado bit with the guns inside the sleeves of his robes and saying "Jesus Christ" as he gets shot.

I bet they were waiting for Noodles' lover, Warrener, (joke, seeing as Retro kissed Noodles on the cheek once during HNIC After Hours.) But I love hearing that the guys hang out... and at the movies doesn't surprise me, Jamie is supposed to be a huge movie buff.
