Cooper as well. The Crunch led the league and won the championship, then Cooper was promoted. Tampa finished with over 100 points in Cooper's first full season.
Dan Bylsma was coaching in the AHL, was promoted midseason, then won the Stanley Cup the same season.

I’m not great with coaches names but I believe the oilers, avs, Seattle, ducks, leafs all hired AHL head coaches to take over their nhl clubs.

Terry Crisp I guess.

Jared Bednar took over in August after Roy quit.
Oilers promoted Woodskippy the boy genius.
Ducks I'm not sure if toy mean the new one or Eakins or Randy Carlyle? Randy made immediate dividends.
Keefe for Toronto has coached some of their best teams in history.
Seattle was Hakstol he was a former NHL coach.

In an ironic twist, Conroy should hire Darryl Sutter as coach.
That would actually be hilarious.

It’s probably taking long because most of the budget for the coach in the next couple years were already spent on Darryl
Whoever gets the job is going to have to do it for minimum wage

I guess Conroy is busy doing interviews at draft combine, so there will not any news soon. Right?

I wonder if Patrick Roy has entered the mix.

If he is actually interested. Then he instantly becomes the top candidate.

Seriously though, it sounds like the Flames haven't asked according to this article

Returning to the NHL seems like the logical next step for Roy, but word is the Flames, who along with the Rangers are the only teams left without a coach, have yet to reach out to the one-time Jack Adams Award winner as of Monday morning.

Nah there's no rush here.
Treliving seemed to rush into his coaching hires, Conroy is being way more methodical it seems. Doesn't matter how ling it takes, just have to get the right guy.

I do not want Roy. Thought his tenure in Colorado was subpar. Even though he had a 50 win season in 2014.
For me it comes down to Love or Gallant, with a huge emphasis on Love. May as well give the man his shot for 2-3 seasons. If it doesn't work out move on.

Why? He has 3 seasons coaching a pretty bad team.
