And then also gave them Smith for just a 4th because they wanted Smith's contract gone.

And it's not like Marchessault and Smith were bad. Marchessault was making $750k and had 30 goals and 51 points that season. Smith had 15 and 37...but had 25 and 50 the year before that for Florida. Two 50 point forwards to keep Alex Petrovic.

The most shocking part of it is that Adin Hill continues to play so well. I actually expected both goalies to fall back to earth a little.

But he's still a .938 through 2 games (.949 for the playoffs), and Bob down to an .826 (.941 for the playoffs).

He has made a couple 10 bell saves but Vegas doesn't allow much quality...it's not like he is standing on his head but steady

Vegas has been just as fortunate as Florida to be in this finals to be honest.

Both teams were buoyed by unexpectedly strong goaltending to get to this point. And Vegas shooting almost 13% is pretty helpful too.

Vegas is better and more well rounded for sure. But getting a .949 save percentage from Adin Hill is remarkable no matter what.

And that stick save in game 1 is probably the turning point in the series - they go down 2-1 if he doesn't make that save.

This is exactly what I saw tonight. A veteran team that’s been there before vs. an inexperienced team that needs to learn how to win. The Panthers couldn’t goad the Knights into any of their BS and it just snowballed.

Florida has to get their head screwed on straight or this series is gonna be over in a hurry

Come on now, dont be like that. You also know that he's been suspended in the playoffs...multiple times.

WAT!
you can't be serious
look at the underlying numbers

Vegas has been dominant
Florida outplayed nearly every game

FloridaPuck is something else

goaltending numbers may look similar but HD chances for and against are MUCH different

Yeah, I just got caught up on this edition of dino7cPuck as well. Once Florida or former Flames come up it feels like every 4th post is him. Just relentless, lol.

1 It wasn't even me who said it
2 you are pretty quiet tonight...first post about the game

besides...Tkachuk is nowhere near the Conn Smythe at the moment

What are you talking about.

Look at Vegas underlying numbers in these playoffs.

48.3% xGF
48.1% HDCF
12.9 Shooting %
.920 Save Percentage (Hill with a .937 though)
1.05 PDO (1st in the playoffs by a mile)

They have created really strong scoring quality it seems as their 29% shooting percentage on high danger chances is ridiculous.

But they have been fortunate for sure to have their third (maybe 4th?) string goalie come in and play lights out, and to finish like they have in the playoffs.

Panthers have allowed 40 more HD chances in the playoffs
 four zero
Hill has been great but if you think he was stealing games like Bob did you are crazy

Panthers got outshot 50-25 in an elimination game against Boston, Hill hasn't stolen a game like that

Its pretty obvious who the most dominant team is out there...Vegas has been the better team in all 4 series they have played

Florida can continue to suck it.
Vegas also doing a great job of not letting things get close. Up 4-0 after two periods? Yeah, let’s add three more in the third. Besides, Tkachuk can’t score in OT if the game doesn’t go to OT.

I never said that Bob wasn't stealing games.

I just said Vegas was similarly fortunate to be in the finals too, and they were. Their save percentage from Hill is still remarkable considering he's their 3rd or 4th string goalie.

And a 12.9% shooting percentage is crazy...the highest of any team in the playoffs for the last decade (12.3% is the next highest).
