Just wait until Vegas wins the Cup and then we'll get to hear about how the coilers lost to the eventual cup champs two years in a row and are right on the cusp of a dynasty.

What you guys are missing is the “a couple moves/guys away”
When they trade Campbell for Vasilevsky because Vasilevsky really wants to win and Tampa will retain 50% on him for sure. And then Colorado trades Makar for Ceci and a 5th round pick to sweeten the deal. Then the Oil will just walk to Lord Stanley and will be a dynasty for the next 100 years. Everyone knows these moves are realistic and are very likely to happen this summer because everyone wants to play with McD.

Don’t forget Ceci comes with a Connor McDavid autograph, so who wouldn’t make that trade.

Sooner than they think?
They thought there were going to have multiple cups 4 years ago.
Thank you Vegas (I hate you). Just need one more failure and I think it really unravels.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

There will always be a team better at playoffs than the Oilers in the west.
Can't see them overcoming Vegas (or a healthier Colorado next year) without upgrades on defense/in net.
What moves are they making from cap hell, exactly?
They have to sell and squeeze hometown discounts from the likes of Bouchard JUST to keep a similar team as they had last season.
Weren't even in the final 4 either. It just comes off obnoxious.
Dumb ####s.

It just doesn’t matter
The fact that Eichel and Bennet have had more success already than mcdavid and draisaitl must sting immensely

dont sleep on the Oilers, Darnell Nurse was likely injured and thus the excuse for his horrible hockey sense and poor play for his entire career. 9 million will soon be a steal for him and throw in another great 2 way d man in Bouch Bomb. No stopping them. They also have a well rested Mike Smith they can always bring back as another weapon. Building something special up there, i believe the phrase is.

Don't rule out one of McDrai coming down with an untimely injury in the last 2 years of their window too.
They've been fortunate to have both able to play out the string even if beat up/fatigued. Might not be the case next year.
And that cuts your window in half.
One of these days the luck is going to run out on that tire fire.
They've pretty much already had the bulk of their kicks at the can, and now the next decade of darkness is closing in.

I think the fatigue factor is definitely starting to take a toll on the Wonder Twins. Draisaitl looked pretty beat up against Vegas, and the dude was a complete non-factor throughout the majority of that series. McLotteryball wasn't very good either except on the PP. Those two guys play more hockey than any skater in the league, and judging by their recent playoff exits, the wear & tear of playing 30+ minutes a night is finally catching up with them.
On a related note, I always see these delusional Oiler fans proclaiming that every elite player in the league wants to play with McDingus and that they would gladly sign with Edmonton or ask for a trade there to make it happen. Lol, really?
If I'm any other player not currently in Edmonton, I'm most likely looking at the 8 years of failure and thinking to myself, do I really want to play with a couple of selfish, entitled, perennial losers? Also, would I really want to go to a team where my role is nothing more than a PP specialist or simply an extra tool to help get McDrai more points, only to bow out in the 1st or 2nd round of the playoffs? I'm betting that's a big nope from most players.

Will they have a banner ceremony and display
“ We got beat by Stanley Cup Champs” if Vegas wins?

That would be their second such banner in as many years.

This was the Oilers shot and they knew it, given deadline day activity.
The upcoming cap and contracts means the roster on the ice will be more watered down than usual....and the Oilers aren't one of those gritty, scrappy, well lead teams that can come together (aka the Panthers this year) through adversity with so they need to win on pure talent, and they can't afford as much talent to balance the talent level as they had this year.

Him that Zach guy who does nothing but whine about how the officials are out to get the Oilers. He spends all game posting videos on what he thinks are missed calls on the other team and bad calls against the Oilers which is pretty much every penalty against them.

Oilers are a couple changes away. They have to get a team to take Nurse with no salary back and then they need to move.

Oh the next dynasty is just waiting in the wings. Surely the Oilers missing piece will be found in the upcoming draft in one of their 3 picks. LMAO!!
