Alternate future, you could jump on the winning team and not have an embarrassment of stupidity hang over you for 4 more years. Unless you somehow think Smith will make a good leader, in which case all hope is lost.

It's such a thin line... the NDP max out at probably 18 seats in Calgary, and need at least 16 to have a shot. (16 means you need to sweep Edmonton, pick up Banff/Kananaskis, all four winnable Edmonton-outlying-communities, and both Lethbridge seats to get to 44. +6 in Calgary might be getting them close to 16 seats.
At least it makes Maggi's take look less ridiculous, even if ThinkHQ doesn't really have a track record.

I vehemently disagree with just about every point Yoho has ever made, but the constant personal attacks reflect poorly on those of you making them. I know directing your anger at an identifiable target makes you feel better - it's cathartic. It's also distracting and pointless.
If your argument has descended into continually calling someone names, you've lost the argument. Be the better person.

My wife and I voted tonight. Parking lot was full, and a steady stream of voters in and out. It took us maybe 5 minutes total. Highly recommend taking advantage of the advance polls.

It actually got me wondering… if the UCP wins, could we see the moderate conservatives fracture away from the TBA-controlled party to hold the balance of power in the legislature? Then build themselves into a moderate and progressive conservative option. Maybe that already exists as the Alberta Party, but with some much needed relevance and leverage.
Then I reminded myself how the so-called moderates in the UCP have remained silent this long to preserve their own jobs, even as Smith and TBA have pushed them into hard-right territory.

I tried to argue that earlier, maybe in this thread. I just think it’s ridiculous and while I understand that people don’t agree with Yoho, their posts are more on topic and worthwhile than most of the name-calling and insults.

I wondered, and wanted to PM yoho to try it out. I wanted to ask him if he had somebody else make post for him, what would the reaction be. People just all pile up on a person and are proud when they quit the board, but all that does is make this into an echo chamber.

When yoho was just acting like a Twitter spam bot it was useless and annoying, but if they're going to actually be adding their own thoughts then I have no issue with them

Oh yes Yoho’s posts - especially the border line racist stuff he’s said in the past - are all on topic and add to the discussion…
I do apologize for the personal attacks, I guess I’m just kinda jealous how they skirt the line between ban/not ban worthy so well haha. Curious to see when it catches up to them.

I’m not entirely sure of how it goes if the UCP loses. I could see a split again between the “progressive” conservatives and the freedom/wild rose component. I can’t imagine that a lot of UPC candidates are super happy having to defend her comments on doorsteps. It seems pretty obvious to me that if they had a reasonable leader, the UPC would be cruising to another majority. The knives will be out for her pretty quickly.

I think you're right and it's pretty wild how close Travis Toews was and how different this election would look if he was the leader. (And I'm no Travis Toews fan but he's boring and managed to stay pretty scandal free even under Kenney)
Gotta imagine that his team is kicking themselves right now. How come they couldn't dig up even one of the videos that the NDP have?

I have no doubt that Smith will be replaced swiftly, even if she wins. I just can’t see the next leader being more moderate, however, as long as TBA are in the picture. And their influence is increasing, not decreasing.

So it's ok to be racist against filipinos?

President of the Yoho fan club re-appears!
So we asked him multiple times about his filipino hate but he has NEVER once responded.
You are ok with that? It's a bad look defending something as deplorable as that.
and seriously he puts out Cory Morgan tweets on here. that is almost as disgusting.
