I think they're getting good attention.
I saw Barkley & Shaq talking about them & Brooks Keopka has been enjoying the last 2 games live with his crew.
They're getting a lot of cross sport love right now it seems.

I'm not sure how anyone can honestly not give the bulk of the credit to the goalie here and its not even a bad thing...similar to 04 Kipper

Yup! And if Bob can come back to this level (or maybe more correctly, hit it for the first time) then maybe Marky can come back from last year.
Watching Bob def brings back Kipper memories.

That was a wizard trade and still is. GMBT turned a losing position into a bidding war between two teams that knew they needed Matthew in order to take the next step - and they were both right. I bet Canes wish now that they had upped the ante and made a better offer.

Lyon saved the season with a 2.82 GAA and 0.914 SA% in 15 games? If all it takes, the rest of the team must have been pulling pretty hard as well.

The trade itself was amazing. It's what happened after the trade that was the problem.

Helps that the team in front of Bob have made the opposing goaltender look worse than the season, series, or playoffs before they ran up against the Panthers.
But that’s not allowed because the oddsmakers didn’t say so and they’re really just a 17th place mushy middle team

they are winning the cup, it's looking like destiny. at least we got to watch an amazing season chucky and johnny last season was amazing except for how it ended. Hopefully we get to see some magic in Calgary again someday. I would love to see a cup again in my lifetime, come on Connie bring us the cup!

The story is still unwritten.
The Flames could have a cup run next year. It would be the ultimate win-win!
Markstrom goes Bob, Huberdeau sets up Coronato for 15 playoff goals...
It certainly feels like that kind of league right now.

It's not really twisting anything into knots. The guy made a decision to do what he thought was best for him, and in the end it sucks for the Flames who at least on-ice gave him every opportunity to become a star from day 1.
|
This is a balanced comment. There is 2 sides to the story, the bottom line is if the Flames want to get it right they have to look In the mirror. Dispite Chucky's decision to leave the Flames will never improve as an organization unless the pay more attention.
More than once Bennett said he wanted to stay, Johnny's parents said if we had signed him sooner he would have signed. Tkachuk said he was open to the idea of signing a long term contract but they decided to fit in Frolik and keep the gang together.
Nothing wrong with those that blame the Flames for making mistakes and nothing wrong with admitting Tkachuk wanted to go but Tkachuk himself said he was open to discussing a long term contract so there was also an opportunity missed.
Flames won't improve by making excuses for failed opportinities we need to give key players more reasons to stay not more reasons to leave.

Tkachuk has just been unbelievable. Getting 3 GWG's in the fashion he did this series..just unreal. What a season, and playoffs. I think he's the icon of the league this year, forget McDavid or anyone else. A monstrous season of hockey. If he wins the cup its legendary. Hurts that we lost him but I have to give him major props.

TBH not really against Carolina or Toronto.
Carolina goalies had a .922 save percentage which was actually above expected for them too (.902 regular season)
Florida scored 10 goals on an expected goals of 13.7, Carolina had a .922 save percentage.
Carolina scored 6 goals on an expected goals of 18.9, Florida had a .966 save percentage.
Leafs goalies had a .909 save percentage which was actually right in line with their regular season too.
Leafs scored 10 goals on 17.8 xGF. Florida had a .943 save percentage.
Panthers scored 14 goals on 15.8 xGF. Leads had a .909 save percentage.
IMO it makes what Bob and Tkachuk are doing even more impressive. It's not like they are running over teams offensively, it's all 1 goal games. They have needed every single one of Bob's saves, and it's allowed Tkachuk to score those timely goals. You wouldn't expect to be 8-1 over a 9 game stretch where you've only scored 24 goals (2.67 goals per game would have ranked 28th in the regular season) but what Bob is doing is remarkable.
The only real argument I'd take is that since Florida is paying Bob $10M they expect him to be a difference maker, and it's just fortunate that he's finally decided this is time to show that game breaking ability that won him two Vezinas.

Panthers are a team of destiny. Everything is going right for this team from timely scoring to great tending from Bobrovsky. I can see them winning the Cup.

They have a great shot at winning it all. But if the west final goes 6 or 7, the Panthers will be waiting for quite a long time before the start of the cup final. Much of the momentum they've built up could be lost.

What do you mean not really?
Andersen in the playoffs before Florida: .931
Andersen in the playoffs against Florida: .922
Samsonov in the playoffs before Florida: .900
Samsonov in the playoffs against Florida: .892
Ullmark in the season before Florida: .938
Ullmark in the playoffs against Florida: .896
Pretty straightforward. Every starting goaltender looked worse against Florida compared to: the playoffs previous (if they played more than one series), the series previous (if they just played the one), the season (for the first round).
Bob’s great, love Bob. MVP! But some people think it’s all Bob. Nah. Helps Bob to have a good team in front of him that makes the opposing team look worse.

Playoffs is too small of a sample to compare before and after. I'll give you that they did a number on Ullmark but I shared the team regular season save percentage vs the playoff save percentage for Toronto and Carolina which is much more telling and it's pretty much in line with what you'd expect.
Florida has scored 24 goals in 9 games the last two series...20 goals in regulation in those 9 games if you exclude the 4 OT winning goals.
2.22 goals per game in regulation is actually pretty terrible. But Bobrovsky has only allowed 16 goals against in those 9 games for a remarkable 1.78 goals against per game, with a .954 save percentage over those 9 games.
I don't get why it's so hard for people to just admit that what Bobrovsky is doing here is unbelieveable and that he is the biggest reason for this run that the Panthers are on.
The Panthers aren't running over teams offensively here...they are getting what might be the best goaltending performance of the last 20 years in the playoffs.
