If he says he knows where he was as an AGM and then follows that up after with him believing Lindholm wants to be a Calgary Flame how exactly does that make it sound like Lindholm doesn't want to be here?

And it is actually worse than a $1.1 million cap hit. It's $1.3 million in the NHL and a buried penalty of $150k. That signing made no sense.

Treliving left this team in a cap mess. Eighteen players signed for next season with only $1.25 million to fill out the roster.

Something has got to give.

Haven’t seen this much positivity and gregariousness in a Flames General Manager since Craig Button!

The biggest thing I personally took away from the presser is that communication in the Flames org was not great and Conny wants to fix that

The guy who set in motion the press conference we watched today. Call it the Buttonfly Effect.

I could see a trade moving out Backlund and Toffoli.

Slide Dube to 3rd line C or if Schwindt/Zary can steal a spot keep him LW.

So nice to look at Cap friendly and know that Lucic/Lewis/Ritchiex2 days are over

I think the guy happiest with the Nonis addition is probably actually Conroy.

We've all heard that Brad would sequester himself in his office and work solo on major items. Conroy is a more a team guy who keeps the conversation going from the bottom to top of the food chain.

I would really like to see Zary spend one more year in the A to really refine his skating before coming up.

I think Zary has all the tools to be an effective NHL player but feel that his impact would be far better with one more year of seasoning.

Funny enough Conroy talks about him in one of his interviews that seeing him as a former player that's a guy he would love to play for.

Kind of an unorthodox org chart.

All of the AGM's are also VP's. Which either, from an organizational structure perspective, puts them at the same level as the GM, or, puts the GM at the same level as the President. There's probably other ways you can draw it up I'm not thinking of.

Not a big deal. I'm happy for Conroy as he put in the time (he wasn't gifted anything) and I do like his initial thoughts.

I think it will be Backlund and Tanev. The Flames want to play a more offensive game and win now, moving Toffoli doesn't fit with that.

My biggest worry is that Conroy will miss out on last second deadline deals or moves because he will be on the phone with someone else for too long! haha

Zary likely isn't ready and Schwindt almost certainly isn't. I think those two can be scratched off the list off the bat. I think they'll be the 1/2 C punch in the AHL next year.

The kids that I want giving a solid chance to make the team is Phillips and Pelts.

Conroy is just so enthusiastic, driven and direct. I though he had a really good handle on the issues and I really liked what he said.

Lots of issues with the Flames over the past year and it feels good to be optimistic about the direction of the team. Everyone is cheering for Craig to succeed, and I think he will drag the organization along with him.

When he said core players, you have to think Coronato from that list is one that would be a core forward who is a young player.

Man, I don't know. Zary earned his spot last training camp and Sutter made Zary his first victim of his vets only movement over a season of squandering opportunities for the kids.

I'll wager Zary earns a spot again next camp and this time, there's a spot for him.
