He obviously did, do you have eyes? 1-3 with Lyon (who they chose to start over Bob)
FFS I said Samsonov was better during the season...he was, Bob was terrible most of the season...are you really gonna call me out for questioning if he could actually keep this up when basically everyone thought he was done.
Guy is the betting favorite for the con smythe...go look
my takes haven't really evolved...they were a 17th overall team that were lucky as F to get in. Guy is providing NHL record goaltending and they are barely winning...but you guys all called it I guess, pat yourself on the back if you like.
So many CPers with perfect brackets these playoffs

Something really has happened with Brandon Montour. He had double the amount of points that he's ever had in his career this year. In 37 prior playoff games, no goals. This year, in 15 games, 6 goals. Looks so confident and has surpassed Ekblad as their top minute defenseman.
I don't think they're where they are without that contribution.

Despite this being Tkachuck's first season with Florida, he is only 3 points away from passing Huberdeau on the "career playoff points as a Panther" list (in 11 less games).
Incidentally, he already holds the franchise record for most playoff points in a single season (previous was 17).

Bob is 100% the con smythe leader

With Bob and no Tkachuk they also probably wouldn't have won that series. With Bob and Tkachuk but no Montour they wouldn't have won it either. Probably also true with those three guys and no Bennett. No individual is winning the games on their own. Either Bob or Tkachuk would be fitting Conn Smythe winners if they win it all, but I think Tkachuk will take it if they do on the basis of his leading the team in points and in spirit as well as his OT winners.
Anyways, it's just a matter of opinion and speculation as nobody knows what would have been or what will be. There's no 100% or definitive knowledge on any of this. I would have thought you'd have learned to recognize that and be a bit more humble in your calls after everything this season. There is a reason they actually play the games. We can only wait and see.

Well I know they were down 3 games to 1 with the other goalie and all the same skaters and then they won an elimination game being outshot 50-25 and while being almost doubled in ozone time.
I have never said I get everything right...I am not the poster(s) acting like they have perfect brackets and calling out other people by name
Also, Bob is the odds on favorite right now, and should they win the cup (not there yet) he will have to continue to stand on his head because their team is just okay. It's not some anti Tkachuk take of mine...the sportsbooks agree

Omg
If they win the cup maybe they can write that phrase on it, "the team was just ok" haha.

17th overall, winning one goal games with NHL record goaltending
The Blues weren't a great team either, nor were the 2004 Flames
Great goaltending, a couple big playoffs from guys...it happens, lightning in a bottle
sometimes I wonder if you guys are even watching or just patting yourselves on the back after looking at the result...the Panthers have been outplayed in almost every game this playoffs but ever metric other than goaltending

You keep mentioning the same game over and over. Yes, they wouldn't be here without Bobrovsky in Game 5 vs Boston... Calgary doesn't have a Cup without Vernon in Game 7 of the first round vs Vancouver (and standing on his head vs Montreal in the Finals), but they still gave the Conn Smythe to MacInnis that year.

Meh, whatever. You do you. You're entitled to your opinions, as are other people. I don't care to debate it. I'll just watch some hockey and see what happens.

dude he set an ALL TIME NHL record this round for saves after 3 games and has allowed 2 or less in 8 straight games
he is the con smythe favorite right now
Its not just my take, go argue the sporsbooks if you like or we can bet?
I will take Bob, you take Tkachuk even money
neither its a push

Because they choose to sit on their leads? And saying that their team is just ok, isn't goaltending part of the team anymore? They have allocated huge resources so that their goaltending would be great and now finally it looks like Bob is delivering. Other teams allocate those resources to defense or offense and may get better results in those categories.

lol pleaaase
Also, goaltending is part of the team 100%...context, the point is he will win the con symthe if they win IMO because if he isn't standing on his head they won't win the cup
anyway more perfect brackets, just don't look at the start of the Boston series thread

You can say that about many Conn Smythe winners.
That's Maurice hockey, I don't particularly like it but it works when you get the goaltending. And if Boston/Toronto/Carolina tie the game up they open up the offense again and as a high scoring team, they generally get results.

I see the Panthers getting outplayed and the goalie standing on his head but maybe that's just me
Sportsbooks have him #1 for the con smythe though so I guess a few people agree. I think IF they win the cup he will get it for sure unless something crazy happens between now and then.
https://www.covers.com/nhl/stanley-c...he-trophy-odds
Jack Eichel is actually a good bet right now...if they win the cup he seems like the winner IMO +500

LOL don’t even clown man. You and I both picked Boston, who wouldn’t? And then (apparently) only one of us actually watched the series, because I had no trouble recognizing the great play I saw from Florida and pointing out that Toronto’s weakness was in goal while you went “no no! Ullmark was the only reason Florida won! Samsonov was sooo much better in the regular season!! He’s better than Bob!!” with a little “but the oddsmakers!” thrown in. And what did I say? That the playoffs are a new game, and with the way Florida was playing it was stupid to count them out.
How did Toronto do again?
How is Carolina doing? They gonna match your “Carolina in 5” prediction? lol
Not everyone has perfect brackets, but you keep betting against Florida and taking the L while twisting around trying to find some way to discredit as many players as possible. Too funny.

Dude you said "Boston in 2" and are now patting yourself on the back
He was so much better than Bob in the regular season...the Panthers benched Bob FFS. I didn't count them out I thought they would lose because I didn't expect NHL record goaltending from a guy who lost his starting job on a bubble team this season.
They have won 3 ine goal games with an all time NHL record in saves through 3 games. Call a spade a spade, the goalie is stealing it...which is fine but lets not pretend otherwise

Yeah, I did say Boston in 2, looks pretty stupid in retrospect, eh? lol
But as I said, playoffs are a different beast. Hopefully that sinks in by the final round for you. Though I’m sure we’ll hear all about “the oddsmakers” or “everyone said so!!” again lol.

The oddsmakers are usually correct, that is how they stay in business
Can Bob continue to stand on his head and steal 5 more games? I guess we will see

first time in the playoffs too
If say Vegas won the cup in 7 or something though Bob would probably still get it, risky bet but good odds considering Eichel would be the easy Vegas pick right now
