Hell, nobody at Postmedia was even stupid enough to put their name on that article. They know how that looks.

Two things can be true:
1. Justin Trudeau is a buffoon.
2. Justin Trudeau is probably right that regressive Italian policies targeting the LGBTQ+ community are bad, and fascists should be called out on it.
1 has been my private view for a long time, though I recognize it’s a matter of opinion. However 1 and 2 have nothing to do with one another, and trying to link them is just a version of the ad hominem fallacy.

Never assume. That’s your first mistake.
I do like how you are JTs knight in shining armour whenever the blackface re-emerges. It kinda cute how you look out for him.

Sorry, not sure what this painfully cringe attempt at being clever is about. Who is defending him? lol
You’re saying you actually meant to side with the person who is quite literally a far right fascist? That’s pretty stupid and not cute at all.

We know. Most people try to laugh at fascists, not with them.

Wrong again.
I was laughing at the thought of JT grandstanding, telling the world how they should be doing “the right thing” and people responding with “why should we listen to you, blackface?”

He wasn’t telling the world. He was telling a country led by a far right fascist that they were moving in the wrong direction when it comes to LGBTQ rights, the other G7 leaders agreed with him, and some tenth-place right wing populist rag that nobody reads goofed on him.
Claiming to be easily amused is one thing, but laughing along with fascists when they dunk on Trudeau (or any leader) for standing up for LGBTQ rights that are currently in danger in that country? Man. Very cool. Great stuff.

Ya ya. Got it.
Everyone should be taking advice from blackface.
Should just watch for the glass house thing.

Got what? Who said everyone should be taking advice from him?
Do you think Meloni’s views of LGBTQ people and Italy’s direction on that front are good things? or bad things?
Do you agree with them? Or disagree?

I think JT would maybe get a little more respect on the world stage if not for the blackface scandals. Perhaps he would get taken more seriously if not for that (amongst other things).
Maybe others, like Meloni, would listen to his views.

He can say what he wants.
What I am saying is that he would get more respect and people might actually listen and pay attention to him if not for the blackface scandals, amongst other things.

Barring his resignation for that, which won’t happen, who could speak that message and have the same impact as the PM? Or should Canada just stay silent?
