Bennett to Tkachuk to Reinhart on the powerplay to open up scoring. Carolina probably doesn't deserve to be down but c'est la hockey

Barkov was hit by Hurricanes forward Jack Drury along the boards on his final shift, but it's unclear what type of injury Barkov is dealing with. He missed the final seven minutes of the first period and didn't rejoin his teammates for the start of the second period.

Also, another point for Chucky

Tkachuk is unreal. In on everything and constantly creating chances out of nothing.

Reinhart in the slot is a carbon copy of Lindholm

That's an awful call to create a 5 on 3. Horrid. Tkachuk had one hand on the stick and is barely holding it.

Carolina will get a make up call, which no doubt will come after a 2nd Florida goal

Florida winning a cup would be real salt in the wound of this past offseason

Man, Lomberg is a great energy guy who can stir it up, but when you watch him closely he's just a basket of little mistakes and dumb dumb plays.

Can only laugh at Tkachuk becoming an elite playoff performer after learning through losing on the Flames.

Florida won't win the cup. I thought Seattle was this years Cinderella team but they were a decoy. The Panthers are, and Cinderella teams don't win cups. Sadly that means it's probably Vegas winning it all.

The best thing we can take away from that is that regardless of how successful Tkachuk or Bennett - or Gaudreau, Fox, Gio, Brodie, Valimaki, etc etc become - We still have Tod Button as our head scout. Maybe Tod's team had its struggles in the early Sutter years, but by the time Feaster took over, Amateur Scouting has been thr Flames' strongest asset. And while there's always some turnover there, the general foundation is there for Conroy to hopefully finally use to his advantage.

They could very well sweep Carolina.
