I really need to start using the ignore list.

I'd still prefer the potato, but okay.

Super pumped about Iggy coming back. Just having him around makes things feel right.

Iggy gets paid to watch hockey games in-between coaching his kid's team. Nice.

I notice in the last year or two, that most insiders will credit each other for whomever first reports something regardless of media outlet.

I don't think Frank does this though. He is late to the story. Maybe he has corroborated.

If we did all that with great drafting and development, ouch.
30 seconds on Google: https://thehockeywriters.com/flames-...draft-history/

GMBT's biggest error was not loading up on draft picks, precisely because of how reliable his scouts are at finding NHLers.

As I told you earlier, there is an even better analysis on here by a forum member, but I am not going to search it out for you.

I think your Spurs frustration is spilling over to the Flames. Your hyperbole about how bad the Flames are is ridiculous.

I don't see what Nonis offers that Maloney doesn't.
And why is ownership doing interviews for an Assistant GM Position?
And it seems like they put too much weight on interviews and not enough on success.

But with that said, there's no reason downside to having a bunch of AGMs.

Treliving used to come out of drafts with more picks than he started with. That only changed in recent years.

I'm not a Nonis fan but he was interviewing for the GM job not the assistants role.

I mean, at least Nonis isn’t the GM. But still, ugh

Fair point.

But still, Don Maloney trained the main who trained Conroy. You'd think that would be sufficient experience to help guide Conroy.

Conroy, Nonis, Iggy? Yeah - I’ll take that.

Not totally an old boys club but two guys we know click together. Two of the smartest guys the Flames have ever employed and Nonis - a guy who’s GM’d before and can help with some of the nuances of the trade.

Let’s do this

When there is a significant update to a thread it would be nice if people could the original post to indicate where in the thread the new news starts. Otherwise if someone hadn't been following the thread but wants to read the update they need to go hunting for it.

Yeah I don't get it either but maybe Maloney is going to take a hand off approach?

A bit uncomfortable with Nonis to be honest especially when a potato makes you look foolish.

From what I recall, Nonis was pretty good in an AGM role, it was only when he was handed the reins completely that things didn't go so well for him.

He's a Burke protégé it's funny that he Burke took him everywhere and Nonis took his job twice after Burke was fired.

Really hoping Randy Carlyle is on the way.

I don't think Maloney is around for the long term. No issues with another former GM to navigate some of the formalities and play off Conroy.

One problem with Nonis though is he is Dreger's (edit) cousin so between him and a chatty Conroy, the media lockdown the Flames have had for most of the last 20 years(outside of the JF disaster) could be coming to an end.
