WB re-released the Christopher Reeve films in a new 4K box set and after watching Superman III again, I have to say I kinda really enjoyed it this time around. Is it the best Superman movie? Hell no. Some of the humor is forced and too juvenile, but I had a fun time with the film and I think it deserves a re-evaluation. People tend to lump it in with Superman IV but III is much much much better than IV. The evil Superman vs Clark Kent fight is amazing, and seeing a drunk Superman drinking at the St.Louis hotel and then flying with the Calgary Tower in the background while a C-train drives by is iconic. That image should really be on our flag.
Richard Pryor is actually solid in this as well, and makes for a good pairing with Superman. And the supercomputer is a neat take on Brainiac and an interesting threat for Superman. Although someone should have told the writer what computers can do, because they think they can cause tornadoes and the traffic light guys to fight each other.

I always liked Superman 3. People at the time hated it, because it was just a quirky oddball film. People wanted another effects driven action orientated flick.
I heard the original script called for the "supercomputer" to actually be Braniac, which would have been a great 80s version of AI.
Plus this scene is one of my scariest childhood movie memories:
The robotification of that woman was terrifying. The effects don't really hold up, but it was real body horror at the time of its release.

Re-watched Superman IV and while it's not a good movie it's not outwardly terrible either, I've seen worse superhero movies. There are some good moments in it but my goodness does it look cheap. Christopher Reeve is perfect in the role every time, if he were still alive I'm convinced he would have made another appearance as Superman in The Flash.
Quantumania is easily the worst film in the MCU. Just a complete mess of a story set against a lot of mediocre CGI. The appeal of Ant Man has been silly heist movies with fun uses of shrinking but this has universe saving stakes and is set in a strange environment where the scale and relativity of the size changes feels awkward. The story is basically just a set up for Kang but it’s done with a lot of exposition and all we learn about his power and motivation is he has future technology and likes to conquer. They try to expand on the Scott/Cassie father/daughter relationship but it’s really poorly written and feels cheesy and lame. Also is a parallel story about Hope reconnecting with her mother that goes nowhere. Speaking of the Wasp, she barely has anything to do here. Feels like the writers forget about her but realised she was in the title so she’ll randomly show up to help in the fights. This left Michael Douglas’ Hank Pym with nothing to do so he spends the movie making quips about ants. Of course doesn’t help the entire thing was filmed in front of a green screen and all the acting is wooden and dull. Also does not do a good job balancing drama with humour and most of the jokes fall flat. Paul Rudd’s charisma doesn’t come close to saving this. Just a big turd. 3/10

What an awful title for that clip. "ugly woman"? How harsh.

It was grim.
I still maintain that Black Panther 2 was worse, but aside from that I pretty much concur with your take.
It was bad. And it should feel bad for having been quite so bad.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
I just watched quantumania on Disney plus...I didn't find it nearly as bad as some people are saying.
It was all a bit pointless though. Spoilers:
Spoiler!
So it's all a battle against a Kang.... But then they kill that Kang... So the whole move doesn't really matter, because there's countless other Kangs? And there's three Kangs, except with funny voices in charge?
Also quantum Kang supposedly had a force that he was going to use to conquer all reality
.. But oversized Scott and a bunch of ants took him out.
The movie itself was pretty average. I think two major flaws with it were that the environments didn't seemed lived in at all.... Also I wasn't sold on Kang as a big bad villain. There was something too theatrical about the performance. To make him truly menacing you'd really have to go less PG with him. They also seemed to find a way, using time travel and a multiverse, to paint themselves into a corner. It seems like the weight of the multiverse somehow takes away from the sorry possibilities, instead of adding to it.

I guess for me the main issue was:
"We're going to distract people with wicked CGI so they wont notice that the story doesnt matter!!"
And that just doesnt work for me. Its a large part of why I dont like Avatar.

I didn’t mind BP2. At least had good direction and acting while tackling deep themes around grief. Even looking at other bad post Endgame MCU films, Eternals had great cinematography and Black Widow expanded a favourite character’s backstory. Can’t think of any redeeming features to Ant Man.
How did the same company that methodically built up Thanos completely mangle Kang?

Hoping that Marvel taps the brakes a bit...the constant churn is beginning to feel like the yearly Far Cry or Assassin's Creed games, with each iteration becoming more and more bloated and ridiculous.
Phase 4 or whatever its called, got off to a tough start with the death of Chadwick Boseman. I don't think the remaining leads have the cache that Downey jr, Hemsworth and Evans had...
Hopefully they don't rush X-Men, which could be its own 'universe' if they wanted it to be. Fantastic Four is another property with ton of potential.
They are running the Secret Invasion storyline too, which I'm pretty excited about. SLJ has the chops to pull this off.
I'm assuming that Kang will be recast. I thought Majors was top notch in Creed, but pretty mediocre as Kang. With Majors potentially turning out to be a dirt bag, I guess recasting in a multiverse is easier than than in a standard storyline. The recast would still be a feat to pull off.
Kang was always going to be tough to pull off. What made Kang so good in comics is that you didn't find out about Kang being everywhere, everytime, all the at once for a while. It was years of character development and learning.
In this you end up with what a lot of people will assume is a silly Council of Rick's reference. It's too fast, too rushed. They had to set up Kang from the very beginning to make him not seem forced or change the backstory.

Ke Huy Quan for Kang

Ant-Man wasn't terrible, but it wasn't good. I guess that's something.
MODOK was embarrassingly bad, he just didn't work here.
They really turned Modok into nothing but a punchline. Modok is meant to be ultra intelligent and sadistic and his appearance should lean pretty heavily into body horror.
I'm not sure how general audiences would receive MODOK as a major threat looking like he does. Patton Oswalt voiced him in a terrible claymation series that seemed to show off how serious the folks involved with the MCU take the character.
I thought it was a wasted opportunity at first, but I don't think the character would have worked as anything other than a punchline.
