60 minutes, mormon whistle blower. Just search that and you'll find something useful.

Lol, I think you need to be more specific, youtube search brings up Mormon money laundering, Mormon human trafficking, Mormon secret rituals for there "royalty", molesting kids, you name it, and this is just what 60 minutes reports

Here's a link to the 60 Minutes video.

I find it funny that the whistle-blower off Wall Street is so ardent and insistent on expressing his religious reasons for blowing the whistle. Doesn't whistle-blowing on these types of crimes pay out 15%-30% to the whistle-blower in the US? Fifteen percent of the total amount of taxes that would be owed by a $100B hedge fund over 20 years would make this guy very, very rich.

He makes a big deal out of the church not using that money for good. He also never mentions what he would do with a payout.

Every year, the church collects an estimated $7 billion in contributions from its 17 million members.

The church expects members to contribute about 10% of their income…a practice known as tithing

The day someone told me I had to pay 10% of my earnings to join their club would be the day I walk away. No club is that cool.

Honestly, if they can convince rubes to give them 10% of their hard-earned money then they deserve it. That's an awesome hustle hah...I respect the #### out of it. But imagine being the guy giving your money to that. Wow.

Not much different than people handing over $10k+ to Tesla for beta software that doesn't work and hasn't for years now. It's human nature to get roped into smoke and mirrors acts and snake oil salesmen.

At least Tesla had promised something in return. Not that it was realistic, but still. There was a perceived product.

It's totally different. A one-time fee when you think you're getting something of tangible value that's somewhat reasonable in your expectation (given that they have sold you an actual car with most of the promised features that has resale value and can actually do real-life things for you like transport you from A to B) versus receiving a bizarre set of nonsense for an enormous and ongoing financial cost with nothing in return.

Like, there are people in Calgary literally allowing an organization to steal 10% of their own money in exchange for total bs. It's so fricken dumb lol. I can't imagine handing over 10% of everything I make to other grownups because I think they can do better with it than I can. What's broken in a person's brain where they can't see the stupidity of that?

"Priest asks for 10% of everything you make."

- Get a job bud.

"But God demands it!"

- He can get a job too. You read from a book and beg for money. There are Hobos downtown who work harder than that washing my windshield.

And when one hobo diddles a kid all the other hobos don't rally around to protect him, either.

And the Church can probably start selling some of their stuff.

Why do need my money when you've got a silver hammer just to ceremonially check if the Pope is dead?

Dont think that when I walk into the Vatican I dont notice all of the Gold and Priceless artwork.

And then you ask me for money? Are you insane?

To be fair, the Gold is mostly from Colonizing Latin America. Like visiting Cusco, I couldn't help but feel sadness for all we lost culturally from that whole deal.

Oh I know! Most of the Vatican's wealth is reaped from blood....

Anyways...I digress...

Hey there, religion promises "salvation" which is just about as realistic as what Tesla is promising. So far, anyway.

The mormons, more so than other religions, have tools to shun people who aren't up to date on tithing. Because the religion and the wider community are so connected, they use tactics to exclude you from even non-religious events by covertly getting other members to stop associating with you. Imagine your kid not being invited to birthday parties for their friends because you didn't give enough, then you ready about the $100B hedge fund.
