Well, it’s been speculated by those close to the team that part of the reason Sutter was let go wasn’t just because it wasn’t working with the players, or many of them, but because Sutter was clashing with coaches, trainers, and management. It’s not inconceivable that Huska had a few things to say about what was going on behind closed doors in a non-supportive way.
I wouldn’t be so quick to paint Huska with that brush. He seems like a pretty cerebral guy, at least publicly.

I imagine Mitch Love will want at least one assistant of his own choosing if he's Head Coach.

It will be interesting to see if Pascall and Huska stick around as assistants if they both get passed over, or if they'll look for greener pastures somewhere else?
If Treliving ends up in Toronto, I could see Pascall following him. Moving to TO would make travel easier for Cassie's tv commitments.
Would Huska go back to coaching in the AHL or junior? Swap Love for Huska, sort of like when Playfair went from Flames assistant to Abbotsford HC?
If Tanguay is in the conversation, I wonder if he'd come to be an assistant, or if he'd only want the head job?

I called it hours ago, Nonis as an AGM. I fully expect it to happen now.

Congrats to Connie. The guy has certainly paid his dues both as a player and assistant GM, and he’s been loyal to the franchise. Well deserved IMO.

I'm not too up to speed on Tangs post career endeavors. Is he coaching or assistant coaching somewhere else?

He's been an assistant coach in Detroit for the last two seasons, and was an assistant for the Wild's AHL team the two seasons before that.
After he retired, he worked at the NHL Network for a while as an on-air analyst and was well-received.

"Jonathan you're being too selfish with the puck. You need to pass more."
-- "But coach, I already get nearly 3 times as many assists as goals."
"Yeah, like I said, stop being so selfish."

For a team that seemed under a dark negative cloud last season Connie is likely going to be a badly needed injection of positivity

Conny being GM and looking ahead to the draft, who we got now? Who's the most skilled played in the bracket? Regardless of size? My call? Gulyayev.

Integrity and accountability are necessary attributes for true leaders. I’ve never heard it suggested that Conroy is lacking in either of these traits. It seems that some people suggest he’s too nice or positive to effectively lead, but if you’ve ever worked for someone living under a dark cloud who weighs on you with their own worries, you understand how draining that can be. I’m confident Conroy has dealt with his share of conflict in his management role, but he strikes me as the type who doesn’t see the value in burdening others with his stress. Guy was an honest player and has clearly met/exceeded expectations as a manager. Congrats to him, and I trust the brass on this one.

I think Nonis as AGM is smart. He’s been doing this for a long time. Knows contracts, has relationships, and the details. Whether you like Burke or not, it was apparent from his book that Nonis is a valuable no 2. Talent eval can be done by others.

Alex Tanguay coaching Jonathan Huberdeau could create some incredible synergy, if anything
