Edmonton should try to flip their two stars to Chicago for the 1st overall pick. Then they could afford to sign Bouchard and enjoy another exciting rebuild.

Don't forgot the cap overages. Kenny decided to spread out his cap pverages last year over 2 years. Over the cap again this year? Not sure what the number is but it's adding up.

Bouchard is going to break the cap. Bjugstad was also useful player, do they try and keep him.

I can see a Campbell buyout but Skinner did not step up in the playoffs. Not sure what else they do unless they trade Bouchard.

Trading to get rid of Kassian and the Ekholm trade are looking to be moves that kill this team move forward. They might rank last in prospects.

Did Holloway get hurt again to finish out the year? He is starting to become a bit of a bandaid too which really hurts this team.

I agree and because of this they will probably need to add guys via trade and have salary retained, which is costly to the already poor draft/prospect situation.

Kane is another guy they could try and trade, just not sure who is inteserted.

Yamaoto out also could create some room but he is somewhat useful.


Bouchard is going to break the bank and their already terrible depth is gong to get worse.

He's about a .7 PPG guy last year, so his cap hit is pretty much what he should for that rate of production. Except he's not great at anything in the defensive zone and I'd expect his production to drop away from the big two (I think that's why he had no production in the Vegas series - when they move Draisaitl up, Kane moved down IIRC).
